Australia Post - Avalon Beach Post Shop

I grew up in Avalon and everything was amazing. Returned twice today. First time massive queue and one lady serving. She was abrupt with all her customers. Second time I went-lady packing a box with bubble wrap and tape etc making it fit in-thought if it was for a customer-nope it wasn't... she could have served and then packed on bench behind her when no customers! Everyone very slow and inefficient. Lucky I live nowhere near here as I go to post at least once a day :(

The staff are so rude I left in tears today. This is the 3rd time I have had terrible customer service in the past 2 months at the Avalon post office. After waiting in a 15 minute line I was finally served, there were some issues with the parcel I was collecting then I was told they don't accept Amex and it was the only card I had to pay. My Mum was waiting outside so I called her to come in and pay but the lady told me I would need to line up again as there is a long line and she couldn't wait 3 seconds for my Mum to walk through the doors. I then had to line up AGAIN behind 8 people. I don't understand why the staff there need to be so mean to their customers. Spend the extra time going to Newport Post office they are always lovely and helpful

I go to avalon post office regularly (about 3 times a week), I post parcels all over Australia and across the world and have been doing so since 2015. The staff at this branch have gone above and beyond in assisting me with my small business. If ever I have a question or a postage issue the staff do everything they can to assist me, they are always friendly and helpful. I’ve been to branches all over the place, but the staff at the Avalon Branch are by far my favourite.

Unhelpful and disinterested is the best way to describe most of the staff here (there are exceptions - but they remain exceptions). I can forgive the AusPost contractors that never actually deliver (I work from home but I always get collection cards in the letter box), they're just behaving how they're paid to behave (or not paid if you see the criticisms from the CWU), but being forced to go into this Avalon post shop is a horrible experience. I truly don't know if they're that disinterested in their jobs or are in fact amazing actors trying to convince you to never come again. Either way, it's working - I love Avalon, but the thought of having to revisit this shop leaves me feeling sick and depressed every time.

The postal workers who is meant to deliver packages to our house can't be bothered to knock on our door to see if we are home; he leaves a card that has to be taken to the Post Office, causing a trip there by us and extra work by the staff at AVALON POST OFFICE. Don't send parcels by Australia Post!

Where are all my parcels? I’ve lived here almost a year and never had an Australia post parcel delivered or heard the bell ring, even when I’m waiting at home for the delivery. Everyone else brings my stuff right to the door. Yesterday I got a text saying a big delivery was coming in a two-hour window. I waited near the post box as long as I could and put up a sign asking the driver to please deliver the package or phone me. Nothing. I looked it up on parcel tracking and now it says it’s not coming for over a week. People in branch are nice enough, but the queues are always down the street - presumably everyone collecting parcels that weren’t delivered. When you finally get the stuff, it routinely takes several weeks. Im not sure COVID is a satisfactory excuse. This isn’t happening in Europe. Bring on the drones!

The staff in general is not particularly friendly, some can be rude, have poor customer service skills and a bad attitude,. The woman who served me today seemed in a bad mood the minute she started serving me (it's not the first time either) . I was in the process of depositing some money when the manager who was standing next to her told me they could not except my cash cheque. I told her they'd always excepted them before including the lady who was serving me, but to my surprise she totally denied it. Instead of gracefully acknowledging she did the wrong thing, she suggested I was lying about her ever doing so. I was shocked and things escalated... In the end to cut a long story short, I became the villain and she accused me of being rude to her. Go figure!.... Bottom line, I do not recommend this post office. Terrible customer service.

Post Office staff at this small branch are great. Sometimes it's a bit slow, usually at peak times which is to be expected really as this lovely area is always busy in holiday peaks. Always found the staff here to be very efficient and knowledgeable, and have never experienced any rudeness here at all.

After my package was not delivered despite getting the notification it had been, I went in. After a discussion with one of the women who worked there, it was obvious it had been delivered to the wrong address and the worker was refusing to offer any advice or compensation. After leaving in tears I called Auspost customer service and will be getting compensation as this is entirely Avalon Post Offices fault. Terrible, terrible customer service.

Incompetent. Took my packages in for returns to vendor and then I received my packages back at my address the next day.The star is for the fact they managed to actually send it back in 1 day.
