We travel around and do our best to support local businesses especially in the smaller/remote towns. The Quilpie butchers had everything going for it and we purchased a fair bit of meat at reasonable prices. I don't like saying this but the steak was just ok but the chops were so tough they were the worst I have ever had. The sausages were nice. The trouble is this experience makes me reluctant to try other small town butchers.

Bought fantastic Rib Fillet here a few weeks ago, had some down at Cameron corner.Made a special trip back through Quilpie to get more supplies and enjoying a Rib Fillet in Boulia tonight ( all meat was cryovacced). Have had fantastic chicken and really nice mince as well. Well done Quilpie Butchery

You gotta try the crumbed steak! A fair dinkum country butcher with excellent friendly service from the whole team and outstanding products. Everything we purchased for the next stage of our camping trip was exceptional: crumbed steak, lamb cutlets, sausages, and sirloin steak were all absolutely delicious and amazing quality, not to mention great value. We now wished we had bought a lot more. We would love to be able to purchase from Brisbane, somehow???

We dropped in to get some meals for the next few days. We were amazed.The shop was modern and clean, well stocked and pricing was very fair. Our steaks and rissoles were excellent.

Just had our last marinated lamb chops, they are the best you can get anywhere, looking forward to getting more when we head out again next year and hopefully we can get plenty of mutton this year, it’s the best you will ever taste, see you guys around March

This Quilpie butcher has excellent quality meat, but the prices are much better than most in larger towns. The service was welcoming and so pleasant. I'm going back for more before I leave on Monday.

Just had pork ribs tonight from the Quilpie Butcher, best we have ever had wished we had bought more. Staff were very friendly and helpful, recommend you visit when in the area. Thank you

Bought rissoles today and had for dinner tonight. Got to say best butcher rissoles I've had in my travels. Going back in the morning before we leave town so hope they got some left. Great customer service too.

Recently bought beef sausages, can honestly say they are the worst I've ever tasted. Full of meal, no meat at all. They should be ashamed to produce sausages like that. Being a butcher's wife, I know what constitutes a good banger. I doubt these would pass inspectionection for meat/meal/fat ratios.
