Grand Palais Beachside Resort

I arrived at reception at 11:55am on Sunday and was met with a very angry receptionist. She said I’m closed I finished here at 11am. I thought she was joking then she slammed the roller shutter closed and turned off the light. Seriously if she had a bad morning that’s no way to treat people. I will not be recommending this place to family or friends.

A great quiet spot. Relaxing despite being on main drag. Great pool. Beach was beautiful and best temperature. Nice walk along the rocks at headland.

Such a scam. Photos of rooftop rooms are misleading are not what you receive. I booked a 2 bedroom rooftop room expecting to have views shown in the photos on the website. I was extremely disappointed to discover the view from our room directly overlooked another building looking into someone else’s apartment, another room’s window looked directly onto our private balcony and we had a tiny view of rocks and some water with nothing interesting to look at. The rooftop view was no better. Some photos of the room we booked were included on the website but were cropped and enhanced. I asked if we could be moved to another apartment with a better view, but was told there was no rooms available despite availability still showing on their website. We were then told by management that most rooftop rooms have been closed 6+ months. Grand Palais- please remove misleading photos from your website. The only thing this place has going for it is being directly across the road from the beach.

Location good, stroll across road to the beach. Room tidy, unremarkable. In room wifi was good. Negatives: leaf blower at 6:45am, shower & toilet effectively the one space such that after a shower the floor around the toilet was a puddle, promised smart TV was not smart rather just the basic model so no casting from device to TV.

Overpriced and not worth it. Worse kitchen ever seen, noisy fountain ( hard to sleep if on the ground floor), unreliable electricity, and 8 days stay but no change of bed sheets etc. Money grabbers. Stay away! There are better options available, shop around. Close to everything though, physically convenient, but poorly run!

Was disappointed that ceiling fan in main bedroom was not cleaned..and the clothes dryer was not wiped clean..none were gross...BUT little things mean a lot. Mentioned this to Reception..fixed straight away. Microwave looked OK... BUT..inside were cracks and rust on cracks. Hopefully if they see this post they will ditch this microwave. Otherwise very pleasant.

Fabulous location. Park your car and walk everywhere. Just cross the road and at the beach... Amazing!

Only spent a night here but I really enjoyed getting up to Alex Heads. Very nice rooms, comfortable beds and a perfect location. Very easy to get down to the beach, the surf club is straight across the road or go for day trips into the Sunshine coast Hinterland.
