Charcuterie board was very nice, plenty for two to share. Bings rice pleasant, strong fresh seafood flavour but wish there was some spice.Lamb rump was a dud, came out cold and very unseasoned.Desserts were good, chocolate tart quite rich and golden gaytime dessert had a more subtle sweetness.Ambience was quite loud, difficult to hear others. But of course pleasant to be at Barangaroo.

I had lunch here last week and was very impressed by the food and the service.We shared four dishes which was just about right for a light lunch. Everything was perfectly cooked and well presented.I’m keen to go back and try more of the dishes next time I am in the area:

It is not even close to Balcon by Tapavino. After tasting great food at Balcon, I wanted to check Born for lunch. It is a great location, but the dishes are fairly average. All except for potatoes lacking proper seasoning.

We arrived without a booking but Kylie managed to find us a table.The waiters explained thoroughly the recommendations and they were all fantastic. The service was great fast and friendly. Will definitely be back.

disappointing experience. the only positive aspect was the kitchen, food came out quickly and flavours were exceptional. shame everything else spoilt this highlight… firstly, hire more floor staff. had to flag down our waitress to ask for water, then again to order food 20ish minutes after being seated by the host. also, if you aren’t prepared to leave water on the table (for customers to top up themselves), you need to ensure the water glasses are consistently topped up. several time our table of five had empty water glasses. secondly, received no explanation surrounding the dish when it was presented, completely undermining the hard work done in the kitchen. thirdly, think there needs to be some more effort put into the cocktail menu. everything we ordered was below average, they looked and tasted like they had been made from a pub… not a sydney restaurant on the barangaroo. finally, if you are going to take 9:00pm bookings, it’s a bit rich to turn the interior lights up and start mopping at 10:30pm… great way to make the existing customers feel unwelcome. felt as if wages were being cut left right and centre. won’t be returning.update after owners response:thanks for the response frank. I should have let you know that the table was booked through a friend. which is luckily in hindsight, because I would fear for my safety after reading your responses to other constructive reviews. for you to think that I came back an hour after I apparently left, just to photograph you closing, so I could write a “fake narrative” is absurd! hire more staff and grow up.

4.5/5Really nice evening here, great location in Barangaroo. Service was attentive and pleasant overall. The portions are generous, for both food and drinks! Gin and wine selection is extensive. And gins are poured at 70ml.The ambiance was warm and lively, although it feels more to the dinner side than the intimate tapas bar like vibe.The food was excellent, the Bomba rice was the only one we weren’t big fans of. It had too much of a stock/savoury flavour, we had more of the paella in mind and this definitely wasn’t that. Our server said it was more like a risotto, but it really isn’t either. However, we’d come back here to try all the other things on the menu and also look forward to trying out their other restaurants too.

We had a great experience! Our boy Tommy was our waiter for the evening and he was very prompt in looking after us. He had a very good vibe about him and always catered to us when we needed something. Big love to Tommy, we’ll be back!

Amazing experience at Born, thanks to Thomas for making our night so special and making us feel so welcome! The Murray cod was incredible, as was the Jamon with Burrata and pickles! Thomas’ recommendation on the wine was a hit, he picked an amazing red from the Priorat region! Loved every drop!
