Margaret and Sally's Driving School

Margaret is a professional, experienced and caring driving instructor. I have had numerous driving instructors in the past, and she is by far the best I have had.First, as a mature aged learner driver, I was very nervous getting behind the wheel. She instantly made me feel safe (as she had dual controls), and she stayed calm even when I made a mistake.Second, she helped me end all my bad habits (e.g. I was turning too late and had bad hand placement on the wheel).Third, I passed my driving test first go, which is a a testament to her ability as a driving instructor.Also, Sally (her dog) is a sweetheart. I was not at all shocked that there was a dog in the back of her car, sleeping quietly and soundly. After all, Sally is mentioned in the name of her driving school, and there are pictures of her on their website.Finally, my advice to any learner driver is to be opened minded with your instructor. Even after you pass your test, you will always keep learning. I am two years post my driving test and I have been back to Margaret to learn manual.

I recently just finished half of my logbook hours with Margaret, which was a very pleasant experience, and I found Paula's review might be very misleading for people who are looking for driving instructors. Margaret is super nice and easy-going and you definitely would feel very safe when driving with her, as she has dual controls and could help you brake. In fact, I do think her help with braking and turning actually helps build my road confidence, because I can get the feel of the car and could correct my own turning later. I think the communication with your instructors is always the key: let them know your needs and what you want to focus on in your sessions.You can always have a good chat with Margaret while driving and she's very open-minded and loves getting to know different people and cultures. And Sally is the sweetest dog, who snoozes a lot and is very calm and doesn't really bark a lot. I would recommend Margaret to anyone who needs a professional driving instructor in this area. Plus she has very competitive rates, and would accommodate your schedules. If you're still not sure, maybe book a few sessions with her to start with and I'm sure once you get to know her, this will become a very enjoyable journey for you. :)

I was very fortunate to have Margaret and her trusty side kick Sally guiding me when learning to drive.I was petrified of driving prior to lessons with Margaret.The encouragement she provided, along with constructive criticism allowed me to learn from mistakes. When anything of concern did happen, she was very calm when responding. Her teaching methods ensured that I was doing everything in my power to keep myself and those around me safe.Her vehicle is fitted with a brake on the passenger side, so she can interfere if necessary, which I found very reassuring. She is very easy to communicate with, answering any questions I had, and is just a lovely person to be around in general. She turned my perception of driving from something that was scary into a fun challenge which I was determined to complete.Margaret is also very diverse with her routes, meaning practice is gained in handling any and every situation. Rain or shine, quiet streets or main roads, city or suburbs, experience is guaranteed. Even the routes often driven during the tests, and any tricky intersections you may encounter throughout them. Also, she ensures you are able to conduct both reverse parallel park and a three point turn with a fool proof structure to follow.Margaret offers an impartial and experienced service which will reassure parents who would prefer to sit this one out, and leave their kids in the hands of an expert.It was also a pleasure to have Sally, who is such a sweetheart, sitting in the back seat silently encouraging me throughout each lesson.Margaret taught me everything I needed to know and gave me a newfound confidence I had previously lacked.Thanks to her, I passed the first time and was finally able to obtain my P’s.I would not have been capable of doing so without her help.I highly recommend contacting her if you are looking for a friendly and proficient driving instructor.

WORST EXPERIENCE. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY! She will not let you drive! She will literally reach over and turn the wheel for you and always brake for you. You can't get a feel for what you're doing wrong, because she's correcting it for you, before you get the chance. I brought this to her attention, and she argued saying she's showing me first, yet she does the same thing again and again and again and again. No point in driving. Literally every time I tried to do it myself (after she showed me a thousand times) she turned the wheel herself or braked for me, confusing me further. It's really hard to learn when you can't feel the car underneath you.Now, I wouldn't know this is an abnormal experience, if my normal instructor wasn't fully booked. The first time I ever drove with him, he didn't touch the wheel AT ALL and simply braked when necessary, to avoid hitting something.Warning: there is a dog in the car Sally". I love dogs and it wasn't a problem for me. However

I have recently obtained my license, with a great help from margaret's driving school. There was never an issue, I felt comfortable driving and was taught so many skills in which made me pass my test. I would recommend this driving school 10/10.
