Tao Dumplings Mentone
With so many items on the menu, this is a restaurant you'll need to visit menu times to be able to order everything you would want. Everything is freshly made on the premises, and it really shows. Incredibly fresh with amazing flavour.

Amazing handmade dumplings, the best char kway teao i ever had, and 7/10 peking duck wrap. great atmosphere, definitely my go to restaurant in the area now

Tao Dumplings Mentone
Tao dumplings is a real surprise. Noticed it walking past and decided to give it a try. The atmosphere is excellent, and we really liked the very extensive menu (far more than just dumplings) with many photos of the dishes. I can say the photos are very authentic and accurately showed us what the meals really looked like. Everything was cooked to perfection and the service was fast and friendly. Will definitely go back again.

Once upon a time King Yuen ruled here as Mentone's number one Chinese restaurant - these days Tao Dumplings is king.Everyone who comes to this place remarks about how tasty the food is and hope for another visit.Service is swift and staff are generally friendly.It was a quiet Sunday lunchtime so the background music became more noticeable. I have been here at busier times and the place was buzzing.Highly recommended

Have been here many times and the food is excellent. Sadly the last 3 visits have left us very disappointed. Service is appalling. Ignored by staff at entrance. Too busy with the Uber orders. Had to ask twice for wine glasses. Then we had to flag someone to take our order. No one came to see if we would like dessert. One Saturday night we were asked to leave as they were closing at 9.30! ( sign on the door advises closing time 10.00pm) Other tables still dining had to leave too. It is a shame that such delicious food is let down by poor service from wait staff. Food is worth 5 stars but will only give 1 star for service.

What a lovely looking Chinese Restaurant. I thought we were in for a treat but we were very disappointed.The Peking Duck pancakes were miserable and small, had bone and sinew, they were served with the sauce on the side but no utensils to use it.The short soup was just luke warm and the broth lacked flavour.The Kung Pao chicken had a sweet sauce and no chillies or Sichuan pepper and the chicken was tough. The Chinese broccoli dish was tough instead of tender and crisp.After we had finished or should I say not finished our lunch, a large woman appeared behind the counter who I can only presume was the owner.She was wearing her mask below her nose and was continually blowing her nose and not washing her hands but still handling the food.To top everything off, the bathroom had a sign beside the toilet asking to please not flush your toilet paper but to place it in the bin beside the toilet.What a shame, needless to say we won't be back.

Had steamed chicken and prawn dumplings & sichuan chilli sauce, steamed BBQ pork buns and noodles with bean paste and mince pork. Very satisfied with everything. Came without a booking for a table of 2 and found it a relaxing atmosphere to be in. Very affordable prices and would come again as the food wasn't oily and was very balanced.

This restaurant is a must visit. The food is phenomenal! We ordered the honey chicken which was to die for and there were so many vegetarian options available. The service is welcoming and efficient, and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. The interior decor is very beautiful, authentic and calming. 5/5 star experience. will definitely be back.
