These guys have consistently done fantastic work for us. Every time I've spoken with Doug and have assigned him a difficult task, he gets what I need done. Never has he said it couldn't be fixed or repaired to myself or to any of our clients. I felt confident from the beginning if I entrusted him to converse with our customers, he would do so respectfully and honestly. He has never let me down. If you are looking for an honest, hard working and reliable team, these guys are the go! highly recommended.

Beams on my 1st floor porch had begun to rot as the original builder used timber that was not suitable. The beams supported joists for an area approx 9 x 6 metres. An engineer provided me with a solution. Doug went through the report and investigated some of the concerns. Doug gave me a breakdown of what was required and a timeline for commencement and completion. He and his crew of Kyle, Chris and Brandon were amazing. The communication and quality of work was first class. They even left the work area cleaner than it was before the came. I would definitely use Doug again and have no hesitation in recommending Blackwell Construction. First class in all aspects.

We are in the process of completing a remodel and extension to our existing home with Blackwell Construction.Originally we planned to go down the owner builder route as we were told that it would save us money. We were going to engage some carpenters - and at their recommendation paid an architectural draftsperson to design the project. When the quote came back from the carpenters it was so over their original estimate, that we looked further.So glad our friend recommended Doug.Firstly, we were impressed with the ideas that Doug had, that even the draftsperson had not considered, which gave us extra usable space within the same roofline.Doug's rates are excellent.He listened to our many ideas, and explained carefully why or why not they were viable. Contrast with another builder we had in early on, who made us feel stupid about ideas we were considering.As with many older houses, unforeseen problems are encountered, and Doug consulted with us throughout the process to get great solutions.He completed the project under the trying circumstances of Covid with minimal delays.I appreciate Doug's respect for older homes like ours, and for our garden, which we've worked hard to develop in the last 9 years and wanted to preserve where possible.
