Townsville University Hospital

From arriving at the ED until the time I left 3 days after that I was treated wonderfully.The surgical 3 team doctors nurses and all other staff should be commended for the job they do. If I ever have to go back to hospital I hope it's there.

Ramping. Not enough staff. Wait times unacceptable and cleanliness unacceptable also. People being sent home that should be admitted because not enough beds or staff. Not caring at all because of the overwhelming number of patients and work to be assessed. Huge systemic problems that the most vulnerable are suffering more as a result..

I recently attended the Endoscopy Unit for day procedure and wanted to give a shout out to all the staff............from the lady at reception to the most incredibly caring nurses and the wonderful doctor.I have had around 14 surgeries (at other hospitals) both private and public and have never experienced the same level of care and compassion as I received at TUH. Thank you all for the amazing job.

I spent some hours in Emergency recently. While doctors were not able to identify or rectify my problem, the efforts of nurses and a particular young female doctor were amazing and so appreciated. The doctor was thorough, explained every step along the way and was so, so compassionate, kind and caring in the process. I hope, by chance, that she might read this from one very appreciative patient. Kathy

Thankyou to all staff and Doctors who cared for my son, he had to be flown from Mt Isa hospital to Townsville hospital and had major surgery on left lung. I live in NSW and unable to be there. Staff including reception were very helpful and kind. I appreciate all the good work they do.

My child had to go to emergency on Friday the 10th of March. He had a boil on his knee & a terrible infection. Dr Zaf, Dr Chris and nurse Michael in Paeds were absolutely amazing. They were professional and looked after my boy in the most caring fun loving ways going avice and beyond. We have been in Paeds several times and I can’t fault them. Amazing team. Thank you for everything you all do to.

We are so lucky to have a health system that doesn't charge us. The TGH has always been good to me and my kid and even tho sometimes wait times are slow they have always been very good with care provided. Especially in the paediatrics ward.

Our daughter was flown into TUH from outback QLD. She has had exceptional care from the very beginning and throughout her treatment. The bedside manner of staff has been supportive, caring, kind and welcoming. Support for our family at Leukaemia House, a home away from home was nothing short of awesome.Thank you to Dr Joel, Dr Adam, Matt and the whole team on the oncology ward.

Despite the tragic circumstances of your loved one having to present at this hospital, it is even more appalling to receive such bad service from the staff. Forget Partnering with Consumers and their families. It certainly does not exist in the Acute Assessment Unit. It takes 4 hrs to make contact with the unit and just when you stop getting relooped, you receive a rude nurse that may choose or not choose to let you know if your loved one is remotely even OK. It is a shame with the current bad publicity surrounding this health service that they cannot afford to demonstrate basic compassion and decency. The senior leadership team clearly need to look after their staff better so patients can receive the person centred care and build trust with their carers. You are performing a service for the local community who has paid for it and staff wages with their taxes. Shame on Townsville Hospital and Health Service.

My experience was not good, now I know why just look at Google map reviews only 3 1/2. Clients for this government hospital have given there experiences.
