I was a bit hesitant to book after reading some of these reviews but we had an excellent stay and experience at Blue Horizon. We booked the 3 bedroom apartment which was actually a 2brm and 1brm apartment next to each other with a shared balcony. It was a perfect setup for our family with two teenagers. The rooms were clean, bright and well equipped. Pool area was beautiful and location was great. Close to Port of Airlie for the island trips and not far from the main strip. Free secure parking was great too. Thanks! We had a fantastic stay.

This is now the Sebel Whitsundays. Most beautiful views to the ocean, marinas and islands and pool area.Two bedroom units are modern, upmarket apartments, with spectacular views, laundry, dishwasher, full kitchen and air-conditioning. The rooms are tastefully decorated with big, comfy beds and there's lifts.Friendly management left us soft drinks in the fridge to enjoy.The bus stops 50 metres away and taxis service the area.Walking distance to town, eateries and supermarket, yet peaceful location.The only negative is the steep incline, but if you're fit and healthy it's easy, otherwise a car is recommended, as there's free parking.We would definitely stay there again. Just beautiful.

Great little self contained apartments. I stayed here 8 years ago, they've had a refurb since then. Very clean and smells amazing. Pool heated, so good to jump straight in no matter the time of day. All the staff are friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay again.

We arrived last night after hours but there were no curtains in lounge room in our room as per pictures on last minute.comIt was very light last night in our unit because if it and I need a dark room to sleep properly due to chronic centralised pain syndrome. Plus we weren’t warm enough The advertised “premium bedding” in addition to “sheets provided” only included 1 lightweight blanket to share. Pillows too hard and high. A very rough night indeed. My husband gave me his half of light weight blanket so he only had a sheet in winter!. I had to sleep under two towels onto of my doubled up light weight blanket and had to try to sleep in my dressing gown and bed socks on top of my pyjamas. There are only 5 coat hangers in about 3 metres of cupboards? I will be posting this as my review. We won’t be staying again and if our booking allows will try to find somewhere else to stay but it seems you have a no refund and no credit policy on last minute bookings. Buyer beware. Check in before reception closing hours so you can see what you are going to be sleeping in before you are forced to have a really rough night like we did. No sleep. Shivered whole way through!

My partner and I spent 6 nights in a 1 bedroom spa room at the Blue Horizon resort and it was great! Our room was lovely and clean, reception were kind and considerate and did everything they could to get us into our room on time! They allowed us to bring electric scooters into our apartment and left us to enjoy our holiday at Airlie Beach! The 4 stars is due to the shower that leaks and only having a top sheet at night. Other than that, the view, room, balcony and facilities were amazing!

Have to say that the booking process was extremely good we did it through the resort directly. Like one of the other reviewers we also booked a 3 bedroom apartment and when we checked in found out that this was a dual key set up consisting of a 2 bedroom 1 bathroom and a 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom adjoining with a combined deck, not optimal and it would have been nice to have been advised of this prior however, it worked.Rooms were fair enough however the cleanliness was extremely poor, the toilet had not been cleaned from the previous occupants and we had to get the cleaner to come back and clean. The single room did smell mouldy and I did notice that the vent was in fact coming out of the ceiling.Have to say the whole finding reception is an interesting experience, there is a lack of signage and I had to advise 3 other couples during the course of our stay where they needed to go.The lift was dirty, stainless steel walls had not been cleaned in a while and the tiles were also dirty.Check in was pleasant enough the man that served us was very obliging and explained the car parking situation, we were told park anywhere in the basement car park.Overall the resort is in a great location we did have some fantastic views but it was just the little things like the marks on walls, two single beds not made, lack of cutlery, cleanliness, stains on furniture, lack of any cleaning to our floor for 5 days so when you walked out of the lift you had bugs and dirt along the tiles leading to your room. Would I stay here again, no.

Room are filthiest i have ever seen on check in. Got moved, second room slightly better, still had unwashed dishes from the previous guest. Bathroom terrible and thats being nice. Glassware had to be washed again as previous guests lipstick still on them. Just appalling.. feeling really ripped off.

Front desk staff was rude during our stay, as far as I could hear with other guests too.Not sure about views as our room had none, despite I asked upon booking if we could get a room on a higher floor with views and they said yes, yet upon check in they refused to give one and denied they said yes when we booked.Definitely not a 4 star hotel, more like 3 star.This place needs some deep cleaning and renivation.Location is good if you want to be close to Port of Airlie. Good 10 mins walk from centre of Airlie beach where shops and restaurants are.I wouldn't stay here again, there are better places at Airlie beach where the staff would treat you nicely and the place is clean.

A great place to stay where you are looking out over the water. Staff are friendly and rooms were clean. The driveway is steep but that is like that for a lot of places in this area.

Upon arrival to our apartment at 3:00PM we were advised that unfortunately the room was not ready if we could do something else or await pool side until the room become ready, so myself and friend waited near the pool with our luggage in the lobby 2hours 40 minutes until the room become ready, hotel room was great however service is a one star upon checkout I received more than the initial quote when I called to question I was advised they would tell me the breakdown over the phone but not email this to me, abit odd. Once I had checked out and flown home I noticed a $52.00 charge to my credit card when I called to question what the charge was for I was advised by the manager that they would check with security however there were no notes on the system what the additional charge was for, two days later I phoned back and was advised it was for when I was locked out of my hotel room and security had to let us in I advised this had never happened and it must of been charged to the incorrect room they advised they would have to follow up with management and have the refund looked into, 9 weeks later myself and partner phone weekly and told the same thing they are awaiting management to look into it when I asked for managements number I was advised they cannot hand this out. Really poor customer service and this has tarnished my stay here.
