Great museum about the Don. There’s a couple of baby photos of him, one in a dress so it’s easier to change nappies. Also, in the old midwife’s cottage is a general museum of old stuff. There’s an old electric washing machine, coffee grinders for us Aussie coffee snobs to marvel at, a toaster for a stove, a raisin deseeder amongst lots of other things, some of which, reminds me of stuff I own! Haha.

Bradmans Birthplace is iconic.. the non profit organization which takes care of the place is doing a great job in preserving such a great historical importance.. Bradman’s birthplace consists of many memorabilia of Bradman, local cricket clubs and souvenirs exclusively available here.. I feel lucky and blessed to have been here. The staff is wonderful and very friendly. Always happy to answer any questions about Bradman and this heritage site. Every cricket lover will love to visit this place and it won’t disappoint anyone. Bradman Oval is just 300 meters from this place, which is another great oval with the largest cricket stumps and bat. Overall, a visit to Cootamundra is worth a lifetime.. i would love to go there again and stay at Cootamundra.. its such a lovely town..

While driving from Sydney to Melbourne we took a detour to Cootamundra to checkout Sir Don Bradman’s birthplace. Being a cricket fan it was great to see the room in which Don Bradman was born, it’s well preserved with lots of memorabilia and things about Don’s cricketing career. There is small entry fee of $5 for adults and kids are free. The Midwife who delivered Sir Don Bradman ran a small private hospital from the front room of her house, it was refurbished in 1991 and opened to public in 1992. Definitely worth a visit for every cricket fan.
