This Reserve is special. While a bit run-down and grotty, it has a unique layout and rich history. It is named after the mother of Henry Lawson, herself a poet and writer who put together Australias first magazine for women and children, The Dawn 1889-1903. There is a mosaic of this in the middle of the park as well as stones from her Renwick St home in the walls around it. The park is protected by a fence, gates and cedars on the street side, making it safer for young children.

Awesome local park ... you can get fresh air, sitting area for bad weather. You can find many pigeons. Children can play sliding game , swing.

Sometimes called the Pigeon Park, this is a nice small park a block or so off Illawarra Rd. There’s some playground equipment, a covered table and chairs and bench seating.
