We had a great time at the BierHaus tonight! They've just opened and we were keen to try them out.The decor is simple - obviously going for a Beer hall vibe - but the food was delicious!The pretzels were great - especially with the French onion dip.We also loved the schnitzel and pork knuckle (how about that gravy!)We ordered 2 kids meals to share among 3 kids, and they even gave us a third serve of ice-cream - keeping everyone happy!Would love to come back!

Great German beer and food. Had the Weiner schnitzel and strudel. Both were very tasty (not huge portions). Was only the 3rd night open, so was a little chaotic, but the staff were super friendly and did their best. Definitely worth a go.

Disappointed. I have eaten At a few ‘German’ inspired restaurants and this one is missing the mark. Firstly they had run out or pretzels and made excuses as to why they didn’t order enough. The atmosphere is lacking any real vibe and it’s clear this place has been started with a small budget (check out he well used salt and pepper shakers). My crispy pork knuckle was tender but the expected crispy crackle was unfortunately really chewy and not enjoyable, and they gave me a butter knife to sort it out (a steak knife would have been better). I hope it improves as I love the idea but feel like they’re missing the mark.

With the advertising of this opening up we were very excited to support our local business.Booked a table for 6.30 & we ordered was told ran out of Pretzels. Then went to order a cocktail & was told not doing cocktails tonight.If you didn't look at the name of the restaurant you wouldn't know you were dining in a German / Australian restaurant.Also the drinks way over priced Unfortunately I believe they rushed the opening as had no atmosphere and the staff looked very confused.Hoping it does put a little more effort in their business as we really like supporting our local business but unfortunately as locals we wont be back.

Great food at our table of six. There was a slight teething problem with a meal delay but it was worth the wait. Drinks reasonable, staff Uber nice. Be patient, they are new and doing their best under trying post Covid conditions. I, personally, had a great time.

Good food and service, price reasonable. Nice location overlooking the marina and central to the town. Good range of German beer. Menu is good but a little limited. In fairness they had only been open for two days so it'll get even better. We will go again.

Two thumbs up!I’m local, and 90% of my family worldwide is German-born, so I’m super excited to see this new restaurant succeed. Met the manager and he gave me a rundown of progress and plans, all sounds great and I’ll be a regular for sure.I enjoyed an awesome pint of Munich Lager and had a lovely Wiener Schnitzel. The pretzel was great too.I’m by no means vegetarian or any such flavour but when I saw their Eggplant Steak I was super impressed. Might even try it some time.Our experience was pretty good. They are still in the process of setting up so I’ll not put any “constructive criticism” as Nelson Bay needs a business like this in the Bay and with all the plans I heard about, I’m sure they’ll pull it off.Vielen Dank, Viel Glück und Viel Spaß!

They had 0 knowledge of anything they served. The older male at the bar was extremely passive aggressive and frankly rude ! Ended up just leaving after our food because of the poor service. Save your money and try another venue on the strip I suggest Lime Mexican and I’m just disgusted on how I was spoken to.
