Stepping Stones Education and Care, Family Day Care

My family and I are so happy to use Stepping Stones Education and Care, Family Day Care we have been with them for nearly 3 years. I have 3 children aged 7,4 & 1 who are with the caring Educator Rosie Wasal. I work long hours and knowing that my children are safe, well taken care for and having the best time, also love that my children have learnt many wonderful skills, the confidence my 4 year old son has with his numeracy and literacy , he will adjust well with school next year. This makes my day at work so much easier. Highly recommend.

Great FDC service. Very caring and part of the kids journey with regular visits to the Educators.My experience with the service and my Educator was nothing but exceptional. Owners were involved with regular visits to the educators whilst fully engaged with the children. My Educator Netra is beyond amazing. My daughter was 14weeks when I had to return to work full time. Netra provided a loving and supportive family environment that my daughter thrived in. Netra has become a consistent part of our lives and we are so thankful that she is like family to us.My daughters loves going to daycare everyday when she knows she's going to see her Netra.

Stepping stones is an amazing supportive and fully inclusive scheme where the needs of children and families comes first . I Highly recommend the educators and supporting staff as well as the coordination unit to provide care , support and a holistic approach to childcare in a family home environment.

Kellie and Julie have established a fantastic Family Daycare Organisation. They regularly visit the Educators which is evident when my son knows all about them too. My sons daycare Mum Netra is exceptional. I started my son in a daycare centre which was a horrible experience. My life changed when Parker was begging to go back to Netras house. The environment she provides is safe, supportive and educational! The best thing for my family!

I have been working with Julie and Kellie from past three years now. Previously I worked for a centre in NewZealand for 17 years. I can confidently say that working through Stepping Stones has been the best decision. Both Julie and Kellie are extremely professional and easy to work with. They both are compassionate, caring and kind. These are the attributes that are extremely important when working in our industry. I have had the pleasure of looking after some amazing children over the years and I am grateful to continue doing so. Thank you Julie and Kellie for being so supportive and always being a call away. It makes our job as Educators much more easier knowing to have your support and guidance.

We signed a contract with Rachelle & Justine in Augustine Heights (through the Stepping Stones office) for the part-time care of our 10 month old daughter. Rachelle & Justine had only just started in the childcare industry and in our second week of daycare with them, we received a text message on Tuesday night the 27th June 2017 informing us that they would no longer be able to care for our daughter from the end of the week. No explanation was offered in the message so we called them. They informed us that they were giving our daughters spot to another child who needed a full time position.We were completely stunned by this. We had our other daughter in home daycare with an experienced carer through Brisbane Kids Family Day Care (now called My Place) for years, and we had never heard of anything like this happening before once a family had a contract with a carer. Other carers who we have had have simply told families the days that they have available, and families then do split care for their child between two carers (as we currently do for our 10 month old). It feels incredibly insincere and unprofessional to tell a family that you can offer full time care to their child and then kick another child out so that place is free.We called the Stepping Stones office the next morning and were repeatedly told that it was a “business decision” and to not take it personally. We were told that the carers were allowed to do this because a notice period was built into the contract. However, we feel that when it comes to looking after children whose parents both work full time, this clause in the contract should be reserved for extenuating circumstances – not for use when a better offer comes along.In addition to cancelling our daughter’s ongoing care, Rachelle & Justine sent us a message on the morning of 29th June 2017 (our daughter’s last day with them) at approximately 6:15am, 45 minutes before we were due to drop our daughter off, informing us that they were sick and unable to look after her that day. My husband picked her up from their house on the afternoon of the 28th June 2017 and we were not told then, or at any time on the night of the 28th, that care could not be provided the next day. Because the Stepping Stones office does not open until 8:30am we could not find any emergency care for our daughter through another carer. We were left without care for our daughter for the day on the 29th, meaning that one of us had to take the day off work.We were extremely disappointed with how unprofessional the carers were. Regardless of whether the contract technically allows the carers to do what they did, we feel that it is the height of unprofessional behaviour to discard a child for a better offer and treat the parents’ concerns with such disregard afterwards. We have now signed up with a carer through another agency who has 35 years experience, and we will be sure to only work with experienced carers from now on.

We used Rosie Wasal in Heathwood for our 3 year old Son for a year before he started Kindy. Rosie was very caring and kind natured, our son had previously not enjoyed centre based daycare but had no issues with Rosie, he enjoyed staying with her and playing with the other kids in her care. Definitely recommended. Julie from Stepping Stone was also very easy to deal with and found the enrolment process straightforward.

I've been sending my child with Stepping Stones for the past 3 years now and it's been a great experience. The ladies and the educators are super friendly and welcoming. The locations of the family daycares are very convenient and close by. I was so surprised to find one that was a 2minute walk from my mum's! We loved sending our oldest son to Netra (Saisha Daycare). We're definitely considering sending our second child as well in the future. I highly recommend Stepping Stones for parents who need flexible care and/or some place close by at an affordable price.
