Running Horse Wines
Stopped in at Running Horse for a wine tasting and were blown away with some awesome wines! David's passion and knowledge of winemaking shines through each variety we sampled. Personally I prefer reds, but I couldn't leave without a few of his 2018 Semillons, as well as a few reds. But, do try David's Cobalt Blue, a smooth not-too-sweet fortified Verdelho that my wife Loved!

Stumbled across this winery on our way to a campsite, had an absolute blast. Dave was great fun and very informative, came away not only with some great wine but also some great knowledge and a big smile! Would highly recommend to anyone passing through.

Great spot, cool architectural building designed around the use of shipping containers.David is very helpful, knowledgeable + friendly.Nice wines - the fortified verdhello and 2008 Shiraz are a must try.

Dave welcomed us with open arms. He is a wealth of knowledge on wine and has many years and many vintages under his belt. His wine is spectacular especially the 2018 sèmillon which is stellar. Great building too with nice views (go to the wc while your there). He is honest, genuine and passionate along with generous about his wine.

Hands down the best wine tasting I have ever had. The owner, what a bloke! We sat there for 4 hours having a great yahn and drinking his excellent wine all apart of his tasting experience.I cannot recommend this place highly enough, 10/10 experience for both wine tasting, venue and hospitality.

Stopped in at RH after a few other wineries in the area. Caught Dave as he was finishing up for the day and had the best time (… and best wine!!) we’d had all day. Great host, very knowledgeable and made us feel at home. It was like sitting in your close friends lounge room drinking their very epic wine collection! 10/10 - must visit if in the hunter valley ❤️…Thanks Dave, Lisa and I will be back!!

Wow! STOP IN HERE!Dave is a bloody legend and a fantastic host. You will walk away with a sore face from smiling and laughing so much.Forget the other wineries that are all commercial, RH is authentic and has a warmth and charm that is memorable. The wine is also very good!

Best wine tasting experience in the Hunter Valley. My girlfriends and I had an awesome afternoon at Running Horses. Dave is great fun and his wines are amazing.Definitely a must visit!!!!

Do your self a favour. IT'S A MUST VISIT!!!!Dave hosted a wonderful 2 hour wine tasting experience for us. Very cosy setting within the unique shipping containers overlooking some amazing views. Very knowledgeable and genuinely down to earth host. Do yourself a favour and visit him. You won't regret it.
