Not sure what has happened, we ate here 7 months ago and it was great, this experience was terrible. Everything was below average, burger tasteless, fish over cooked, I could use the calamari as a sling shot! It’s a shame, great location, and they are licensed to sell alcohol. This place should be a gold mine!

The battered barramundi was delicious, beautifully cooked, however the batter was a bit heavy. It's a very popular place, unfortunately understaffed coming into dry season so there was a bit of a wait on the food. The restaurant itself is pretty average in terms of decor, however it's more than made up for by the glorious sunsets. Very family friendly, who doesn't love a fish and chip feast on the grass!

The location is perfect to experience Darwins famous sunset. When busy wait times for fish n chips can be long. There is a line up of customers extending outside the door which is understable during peak times.Unfortunately we were missing our battered scallops from our order and I had to remind about the tartare sauce. So would recommend to double check your order before departing.Other than that it was OK.

It’s been while since we have been back here, and I don’t leave reviews, but I wanted to do so after my experience.I have to say what let’s this place down is the customer service, and I do mean the total lack of decent customer service. When placing my order, and trying to order an item that was clearly on the menu. I was spoken to in a rude, short and condescending manner that item wasn’t available. “Where did you see that?” (Clearly on the menu, and I did show the lady serving us) “Yeah nah we don’t have that”. Clearly I should of known that…Kinda leaves a bad taste considering we spent over $170 on our order already.I understand running a small business isn’t always easy and certainly hospitality is tough, but looking at other reviews of La Beach, customer service is something that still needs a lot of improvement. Its going to another length of time… months till we try La Beach again… maybe.Try Eat-a-pizza if you are after a meal to watch the sunset at Cullen Bay…

One of the best places to see a sunset in Darwin while having fish and chips and a drink. However while the F&S servings are generous the chips were under cooked and fish a tad tasteless.

Beautiful place to watch the sunset, very popular area.Shame about the places to eat though on this stunning strip- a fish and chip shop or a Chinese buffet.

We won’t be buying again. Extremely disappointed with our $60 worth of food tonight! We had ordered 2 pieces of crumbed fish, a large serve of chips, 4 potato scallops, and calamari. When we opened our food, we were shocked. There was barley enough to feed 3 of us. The fish pieces were tiny! We returned to the counter thinking they had forgotten a piece of fish… nope. Not sure what has gone wrong but the meals used to be huge! And so good also. Only rating 2 stars as the woman who served us was nice. Again, we won’t be back.

My flake (shark), half serve of chip and green salad was delicious and ample for a big eater. Lovely sea breeze and view of lush lawn, palm trees and beach. The outdoor dining area looks very tired but is functional. As the food is served as takeaway in wrapping paper it would be handy to have somewhere to wash your hand. The trip to the in house toilet, tucked away down a bit too clean passageway, unfortunately knocked another star of my rating.

Venue: good place to see sunset. Plenty of tables outdoor. But tables are rather dirty.Service: the young girl was very nice, and gave advice to us. Serve food fast. Self service for disposable forks, vinegar, salt and serviettes.Fish & chips: wrapped by multiple layers of paper. Look bulky. Half serve of chips, $9 are good for 2 to share. Choose to have battered Barramundi, $18. Fish and chips were ok, already not crispy. Tartar sauce, $2 was good.
