Berowra Waters Studio

This was our D-Day. D-Day as in Dirty and Dangerous. The place is filthy - dirty linen, cushions, mats, floor, hair around the toilet basin (not head hair!), piles of insect excrement on the blinds and windowsills. Dangerous as in the BBQ is clogged with fat and exploded and the glass kitchenette hotplate is cracked from one end to the other. Our complaints to the owners via management (Berowra Waters Holidays) were ignored. Our request for a refund for the night was denied as we had spent the night there. Bit hard not to as the BBQ exploded at 7.00pm and was the clincher to leave. Also, you are taken there by a small runabout and because of the isolation cannot easily leave. This place is in serious need of a major face lift. Backpacker rating at best and for $375 per night you will find far better five star accommodation elsewhere (recommend the Blue Mountains 90 minute drive west). A small dinghy is provided but you need to flood the engine to turn it off. An obvious problem should an emergency arise as you will need to wait 15 minutes to restart the thing. A forgettable experience; look elsewhere!

Loved the Studio - fantastic views from the huge deck. Studio was clean and tidy with lots of extras to make it super comfortable. With the use of a tinny and kayaks we managed to explore the river and had a fabulous time. Will definitely be back!

Nice place for a change from the hustle and bustle of the city. Amazing views over the Berowra creek. The accommodation comes with a boat transfer and you can self check out using the dinghy provided. We liked how the breakfast was catered - you have everything for a simple continental breakfast of bread, butter, jam, cereal, milk, tea, coffee, orange juice, etc. The bathroom is outside the studio, we didn't like this aspect. It's quite rundown and not maintained - this is true for the whole house in general although the bedroom itself from the inside was spic and span. The large deck with barbecue is very private and like mentioned before, views are amazing. We wish the space was a bit more well maintained for the $$$ tag.

I've seen Berorwa Waters described as a 'way of life' and what a way it is. So peaceful & relaxing at the Studio to sit on the deck watching the boats (and seaplanes!) pass by, listen to the wildlife or just silence. Host was very helpful and friendly, explaining everything when we checked in. Property is clean and tidy and has everything you need to chill out for a few days, cruising up the river of the provided dingy was fun as well.
