Just wanted to say thanks for your advice when purchasing my Ankarsrum Assistant 1500 watt mixer. Its just brilliant ! And not just because I could pick my favourite color - red!I am a home economist and have worked for many years in educational kitchens and have therefore tried and tested many kitchen mixers. I had purchased a Sunbeam large capacity mixer which failed quickly when I doubled a cake mix - then I researched and purchased a Breville Bakery Boss which failed when I made pizza dough for my daughters birthday party ! The store I purchased this mixer from replaced this with another new one which also failed. When I showed my research to the store manager at a large store they confirmed that there was really nothing on the market that was built to last like the Ankarsrum Assistant mixer or that I wouldn't have a lot of future problems with. I looked up many reviews online and was convinced that the Ankarsrum (sold only at Blackwood lane) was my best option. George and Angela even offered to let me try one in the store if I wished and showed me the inner workings of this sturdy mixer. Two years on and I still love baking with it.Its easy to use and is excellent for making batches of perfect pizza dough for kids parties or family dinners. We have made everything from sourdough bread - to light sponges, meringues, marshmallow and of course cakes. I love that I can easily double a cake mix or dough mix and it mixes the ingredients effortlessly! I love visiting the Blackwood lane store and appreciate all the tips and tricks I learn every time I visit.I had one query about my machine and after one phone call the issue was fixed in ten minutes !Thanks again guys,Sincerely, Kim.

I purchased an Ankarsrum mixer today, having phoned to check they carry stock in store beforehand (they have over 200 in stock!) And George offered for us to bring some ingredients to test out the machine so we could try before we buy. Such great service! And really valuable as George and Angela were able to share their wealth of knowledge with us, including tips on machine use for the types of dough we will make most, and detailed knowledge about the inner workings of the machine. The worst after sales customer service. These people do not like if you have an issue with an item and will try and convince you that it works and you really should try the item again. I mean if the item doesn't work trying it again will just not work. They're good at delivering items fast but don't want to know you if you want to return items.

I called into Blackwood Lane on the way home from work. Having never decorated a cake before in my life, I thought I'd have a go at decorating a cake for my sons 10th birthday. I brought a picture in of what I was wanting to create (Hawks football jumper). Angela couldn't have been more accommodating and helpful to a first timer! I left the store with full confidence in not only decorating a cake but also baking the cake as well.My daughter's 7th birthday party is coming up in two weeks. This time the request is for a unicorn cake and I'll be heading back not just for the ingredients but also the tips and tricks that Angela was kind enough to share with me.

Just over a year ago I purchased an Ankarsrum with the icecream attachment. And now all I seem to be doing is making bread and icecream at high quality gelati standards. My teenage boys now won't have bought ice cream and bread. Which is great as I have some control in what they eat and what's in our food. The best thing I ever bought. Absolutely love it

I found George and Angela of Blackwood Lane, customer service out of this world, as they would go out of their way to help you with anything you need, even on the weekends they will help you, so I feel their Customer Service, is one of the best, I have come across for ages, as I had never had an Ankarsrum before and I am a serious cook and I was getting fed up with ordinary mixmasters that could not do the job, so with help off George - who has a great deal of knowledge on the Ankarsrum machine, I decided to buy it and wow it is the best by far - if you are into bread making or anything with dough, it is the best I have ever used - I love the bowl that I use for making my cakes, as it is clear plastic and it is nice to be able to see through the plastic bowl, how your mixture is beating, it is a very good quality plastic bowl - I will include some photos of what I have made so far.
