R&M Jones Removals & Storage

Ron Jones has been moving and storing furniture for my family for almost 30 years. During this long period the service Ron and his team have provided has been exemplary- completely reliable, extremely efficient, and unswervingly polite and friendly. We've not once had an unpleasant moment or disappointment in our dealings with him and I cannot recommend his company highly enough.

We went with R & M Jones for our most recent move due to word of mouth and their experience with antiques. It was agonising to get the arrangements in place as they NEVER answer their phones and it takes ages for someone to get back to you. They didn't show up initially to preview our stuff before the move and didn't even tell us that they couldn't make it. Eventually Ron arrived the next day and apologised, gave us boxes etc. and was very friendly, so we felt okay about it. On the day of the move, 3 men arrived and did the job well, however just towards the end they hit the pendant light in the hall and the cover fell off. One of the removalists said he'd come back and fix it in a couple of days. We paid cash in hand for the job, but because we didn't have the exact amount, we asked for $20 change (sounds stingy but it was an expensive job for us already and we had already paid for their coffees). They didn't have any change, so the same removalist said he'd bring back the $20 when he came to fix the light. You can probably guess what happened. Yep, he didn't show. Multiple calls to the head office, Ron, and nothing...until I threatened with them with the ombudsman and I received a call immediately from the removalist that promised to fix the light - he gave a pretty paltry excuse we've been busy"(?!) and said he'd come on Sunday (a couple of days from when he called). He didn't show up. Again. No phone call

I engaged Ron Jones Removals to move a buffet across town today. He was scheduled to arrive at 9.00 am and never bothered to turn up. He flicked the job to his mate who turned up 4 hours late (too late to make the delivery) complaining that he was given the wrong phone number as a contact for the job. Ron Jones removals never answered their phone all day and never even bothered to apologized for the mess. I would avoid this company at all costs.
