I’m a connoisseur of country bakeries, and it’s easy to see why this one has awards in the window!Sometimes with ours it’s like playing Wheres Wally with ingredients- but not here. My cheese and steak pie was loaded with both and flakey pastry that joyously got all through my beard.Sausage roll rocked as well, and I also ordered a ham, cheese and tomato sandwich. With ham off the bone no less.Coffee was typical of a country bakery which is hot and big and for me just completed the authentic experience.Staff were warm, helpful and very friendly!

We just bought 3 sausage rolls and three small hot chocolates and the total cost including sauce (which cost extra) and EFTPOS fees was more than $29. Definitely more than we were expecting! Service was also poor given the price. Disapointed.

One of the best pie I had in Victoria, and so far haven’t experience any other one close to this in Melbourne CBD.

Friendly service, delicious bee sting and fruit flan. My daughter enjoyed her sausage roll. Would definitely stop again by next time we are though.

Stopped here for a quick bite to eat for lunch after some google searches on the best pie shop in Daylesford (there is another bakery right across the road), this one seemed to be the recommended one, outside on the window there are the awards to prove this. Went here during the weekday around 1pm and most of the pies were selling out if not sold out. I had the regular beef pie. Nothing really special about it, I needed a bit of tomato sauce to help inject a bit more flavour into it as I found the gravy inside a bit lacking so it was a dry pie. Had a little bit of the sausage today which I found slightly more tasty. I wouldn’t necessarily drive all the way for the pies here but if you are in the area, it’s an alright option for a quick, cheap lunch.

First time here for me, it won't be my last time. Great assortment of fresh cakes, it's hard to choose. Fresh pies and pasties have plenty to choose from as well.

*edit* also y'all need to stop using caster sugar in your coffee. It's not 2010. White sugar is for baking. Raw sugar is for coffee.Ordered coffee and it took about 10 minutes for the server to even start making them. Meanwhile we watched many people served while our drinks lay forgotten. I think They definitely need to get their coffee guy in to train all the staff in how to make coffee. One barista on Anzac day is not sustainable. On the plus side the coffee was actually pretty decent. Despite the fact that I'm fairly sure we were given reheated milk.

My partner and I enjoyed the steak and bacon pie though there was little steak. Service was so-so, my partner asked for an extra sauce and was told by one of the servers you ask for too much" in a not so friendly tone. My partner would've been happy to pay extra had he been asked to."

I had a chicken and avocado sandwich. Very fresh but a lot of salt added to it. My husbands pie was also very salty . The mocha ring was tasty with fresh cream. Overall just ok.

Every time I visit Daylesford I make a beeline for Pastry King for a Pie. Year after a year their quality does not disappoint. Consistent, great quality Pies like a country bakery should. Had the Steak and Mushroom. Great pastry, perfect thickness and flakiness. Filling is great full of flavour and meat content. I'd give these pies 10 stars if I could.
