Not recommended. Nothing but trouble with designs and communications. Engineer is husband and wife team - they both went away on holiday without any contact or any one else looking after clients or their business - this happened twice for one month each occasion during our 12 month construction. unable to contact for critical response we required.Whilst engineering designs apparently within tolerances for engineers code - the floor for newly constructed level above double brick and brick internal level on very solid foundations bounced beyond belief - over 8mm of bounce just walking on the newly constructed floor - so much that if we had tiled floors the tiles would have cracked. Engineer claims this is acceptable and the designs were sound and consistent with engineering tolerances - Engineer would not redesign or accept that despite the design being within engineering tolerances that in practice our flooring and stone benches would have cracked with that much movement - we had to devise our own reinforcement solution and implement at our cost despite engineer saying it wouldn't make a bit of difference - it did make a lot of difference and rectified the issue within 1mm tolerance...no thanks to the appointed engineer.If it wasn't bad enough - to add to this - not a single contractor would agree to build concrete pool surround that this engineer designed and i cant get in contact with this engineer - have been trying for weeks now without response. save yourself the headache and appoint an engineering company that you can contact and has good references.
