BYKKO Electric Bike Sharing

We had a fantastic experience hiring e-bikes with Bykko and riding around Newcastle. Really wanted to acknowledge the great service that Lindsay and Stefan at the Newcastle office provided us - super helpful and totally made our day.

Not a great experience - the $50 deposit can be held for up to one month depending on your bank. When I called to ask about the charge still being there one week later I was told to take it up with the bank. I wouldn't recommend using the casual hire method unless you are with Commonwealth Bank as Bykko said this is the only one that refunds with the 1 day. They need to sort this out as blaming the banks is no longer acceptable in my view.

In Newcastle from QLD visiting my friend with my daughter and needed 3 bikes and helmets. Visited the office as we couldn't find 3 bikes and helmets together at the docking stations. Stefan and Linsey were so lovely and sorted us out in no time. We had a great couple of hours on the bikes and felt so grateful for the level of service we received. Thanks Linsey and Stefan!

Would not bother!!Signed up to use the bikes. Never got a response for registering. Good thing too, as most of the bikes had flat tires and quite a few of them were rusted out.

Wow, what a fantastic day i had. Thanks for making these bikes available. It makes a difference as a tourist. A shout out to the wonderful bus drivers and public who i could see were being careful passing me. 2 hours of no drama.

So I had a few issues but the great folks at BYKKO listened and resolved everything. Very happy with the service. Paid the weekly hire charge of $22 as this seemed more reasonable than the $5.90 per hour. It wasn’t made clear that the bike had to be docked every half hour- you can’t cover many of the recommended bike journeys around Newcastle in such a time. Now I was billed $79 on top of the weekly hire charge. 8am to 2pm for a total of $90. I raised my concerns and they have kindly waived the fee. They have also made changes to the scheme which has made it eminently more user friendly. Thank you for listening and your great response. I’ll be using you again-John

Poor service! Old bikes that need attention! Charged my account and bike was not even used. Good luck trying to get a call back when you need them. Overall so disappointing to deal with while on holidays.

I've had positive experiences with the Bykko service whilst in Newcastle and would highly recommend it for those seeking e-bike hire at Newcastle!

This is one of my favourite things about living in Newy - so cool! For my partner’s birthday I organised a scavenger hunt and the bikes were a big part of getting all over town to complete tasks. So much fun. We’ve used them multiple times, but now that we don’t live in town anymore, we find reasons to use them. Great addition to Newcastle!
