Toyota dealership in Wollongong did the diagnostic tests on my daughters prius and told us that it would cost $6000 because we needed three different parts including a new battery. I decided to get a second opinion from John at Hybrid, thank goodness I did.! He suggested that the dealership probably did not have enough expertise to properly analyse the diagnostics and was just throwing all of the solutions at once and expecting that they would get a result. I followed John’s advice and purchased a secondhand battery fan for less than $200 cost and my local competent mechanic (lou from REL Fairy Meadow) did the diagnostics and worked with John to sort out the problem and now the vehicle is running perfectly some $600 later!

Late review but a massive thank you to John and his team for resurrecting my 2007 Prius. John knows batteries like Google! So knowledgeable and informative. Patient and accommodating. He managed to get me a refurbished battery pack considering he has such a long list of customers. No more triangle of death. Thank you John. The car is still running smoothly since the battery pack change 2 years ago!

Extremely happy with the level of service from John and Joel. These guys have a deep, technical knowledge of Hybrids and batteries, and they took the time and care to answer our questions. Joel even showed us the real-time ECU data during a test drive with his laptop once the new battery was installed.Very competitive on price and better warranty terms than Toyota.Highly recommended.

Quality, good advice and fair prices.John helped me to repair my wonderful old hybridcar by myself.In Germany there is no hybridrepair-company. So I asked in U.K., in USA and finally in Australia. John had the best answers - so I ordered the needed battery sticks from his company. John organized the transport of the battery from China to Germany. In times of corona such an transport seemed to me as an adventure. But it worked very well and now my car is repaired!Thank you very much!

5 out of 5 stars doesn't appropriately say how great John and his staff are. Took a 2006 Toyota Prius to John and was more than happy with the service he provided. He not only fixed the issue but made sure that there wouldn't be any other issues with the car and asked me to come in a couple of weeks later just to do another scan to check everything was working as it should be. John and his staff were extremely helpful and informative, they kept me informed with what they were doing and why they were doing it which just goes to show that they really do care.John and his staff will definitely be my first call in the unlikely scenario that I have any other issues.

2006 Prius Gen 2 battery replacement, they saved me $1500 for a new OEM genuine battery.John was very knowledgeable about the hybrid battery options available, and talked me through the options for my car. His information was consistent with the significant research I had done and it was good for it to be explained simply in the context of my car.I live in regional NSW and my location was not an issue for them to help me.I was not pushed to purchase from them, John even gave me some advice on how to deal with other companies closer to me to get a better deal, but my best option was still to go with them. Even after I made the the choice to go with them, John went above and beyond to save me more money. Which was very appreciated.

10 months & 23,000 km since the hybrid battery in my 2006 Prius was replaced with a reconditioned one for $1,450.00. The unit & the car have functioned perfectly since. I found John most interesting & helpful answering all my questions (& speaking to my inner-geek about how the hybrid system works & functions [cells, voltages, tolerances, etc] before & during the repair process which took about 2 hours. The warranty is 24 months or 100,000 km.John assuaged my worries about the cost & reliability of the hybrid system. His conduct stood in contrast to four different Toyota dealerships who, during my research, were evasive about pricing & scheduling the repair when contacted by phone. When pressed Toyota's quotes ran between $3,500 & $5,500 (!) to install a new hybrid battery. John convinced me that a re-conditioned battery was nearly as good with considerable savings. I also remember him indicating he could provide a new hybrid battery for a better price than Toyota.

I called John because I had some concerns regarding my lexus Rx400h hybrid, it seems like I was stressed for no reason. What a fantastic guy he is, he took time to explain everything and the info was clear and on point. Guys he is not after your money but he is after providing a great service. This day and age not a lot people honest like John, I can assure you that. Thanks John
