super rude and dismissive waitress. blond lady with glasses on was very rude to my friends and I but then very chummy with the locals, interesting! it seems as though they don’t want anyone there who isn’t local. would not recommend very unwelcoming

An absolute classic Aussie pub. Love the local country vibe. However it's a shame they serve below average food, unfortunately even our chips were bad. With a good chef, a fresh coat of paint and some friendly staff, this place could do really well!

We stopped here for lunch while riding the Tweed section of the Northern Rivers Rail Trail. This pub and beer garden is definitely rocking an 80s vibe, and is very busy with other day trippers. Our staff were friendly, but be aware that wait times for lunch tend to blow out. Located only a hundred or so meters off the trail, predict that this pub will become more popular as trail demand increases.

Extremely rude lady behind the counter. Upset two of our group. Back chatted to us in a rude and couldn’t care less attitude. Even suggested we go eat elsewhere even though we had a booking in place for 14 for a friends birthday. It’s a shame cause the other staff seem ok. I suggest giving this place a miss and heading towards the big motorbike and go to the Moo Cafe that has the friendliest of staff, lots of spacious outdoor eating (handy to keep an eye on your bikes) area and the inside is really nice too with some classic motorcycles on display. Awesome food too! Seriously don’t waste your time with the Victory. Very very disappointing :(

The people who run this establishment are the rudest that I have ever had the misfortune to encounter. They very clearly do not want customers from the rail trail. I would strongly encourage other visitors to this lovely part of the world to keep riding past the Victory Hotel to the roadhouse 500m up the road or to try the cafe in the town before Moo bull. This is based on our experience today when we arrived at 11am after riding the rail trail. We were a group of ten consisting of parents and children. The place was completely empty and we took a seat at a table outside. Shortly after sitting down, a man came and made it abundantly clear that he was upset we had taken a seat at the table. He asked if we had a booking and being aware he was irritated we offered to leave if they were too busy. He made a show of looking around at the empty tables before saying that we could stay but the restaurant didn’t open until 11:30am. We said that we were happy to wait and placed our orders for when the kitchen opened. A brunette woman was taking orders at the bar and we ordered meals, including four halloumi burgers. She came out sometime later and said that they didn’t have any halloumi and we would need to order something else. One of the children who had ordered the halloumi burger asked for wedges instead. She advised in an extremely rude and dismissive tone that there were no wedges or chips as there is a world wide potato shortage. Confusingly, chips were still served with the burgers.During this conversation another lady came out and said that the chef had just advised that they could go to the cheese shop down the road and get some halloumi. I said that would be great but the brunette lady said “I’m not wasting my time getting halloumi, I’m too busy today, they can get something else”. There were literally no other customers other than our group at this time and the only other meat free option on the menu was bruschetta. The brunette server clearly has an issue with visiting tourists from the rail trail. She even rudely advised a member of our group that these visitors meant that locals had stopped coming because there were too many children now (our group included six children) and that locals now found it hard to get a park. She said locals always booked and visitors never did.I have never been made to feel more unwelcome in a hospitality venue. The food is average but the service is terrible. Avoid at all costs. I suspect the only positive reviews for this place are from locals who clearly receive very different treatment.

After a fabulous day riding there and back on the new Northern Rivers Rail Trail on Thursday we were keen to enjoy a cool bevy at the Victory Hotel. Unfortunately because of the service received from a super rude and abrupt blonde lady behind the bar we won’t be returning and can’t recommend this pub. There was 1 other table in the bar area, but her annoyance at our presence and her unfriendly service makes me question how pubs survive.

Uncooked food. Rude manager. Waiting 50 mins for food being the only customers in the pub and received food that we didn’t order.Would not recommend stopping here at all.

Great pub. Friendly, welcoming staff.Very accommodating as kitchen had just closed but they were happy to make us a meal.Lucky us as its one of the best schnitzel & chips I've had! Juicy & cooked to perfection & chips were crunchy.A must for a feed & cold drink as you drive through.
