I’ve had a great experience with Coastal Nectar, mentoring me through my own bee keeping journey. Tom is super friendly and very knowledgeable about bee keeping, and this translates into his care and availability through the mentoring process. Tom helped me to obtain my own hive and alongside teaching me to ensure my hive is happy and healthy, he has also been able to provide additional resources for learning. Also, Coastal Nectar honey is delicious! Worth a try if you’re on the Surf Coast or surrounds

Bee Keeper Tom came to our school for an incursion. He was fantastic! He was very engaging for the students. Bee Keeper Tom had fun activities, visuals, interesting equipment, beeswax and honeycomb we had the chance to look at. We all enjoyed learning about the fascinating world of bees and why bees are important to the environment and the food we eat.

What Tom has created with Coastal Nectar is truly unique! I have been lucky enough to try some of his delicious locally made honey; I didn't know honey could be so tasty, very different to commercial producers. However, what surprised me the most about Coastal Nectar was the education that Tom provides in addition to the product, I did not know how important bees were to our ecosystem. I am sure that the programs that Coastal Nectar facilitate will inspire the next generation of bee enthusiasts!

We had Bee Keeper Tom come into our ELC and what an incredible experience. Tom was wonderful with our 2-3 year olds and kept them engaged and busy for the session. They loved the interactive games and the short film they watched, even the staff learnt some amazing Bee facts. Bee Keeper Tom is a must if you are exploring Bees in your classroom.

Tom did such an incredible job at educating the prep students about the importance of bees. His delivery is engaging and his passion shines through. The kids discovered so many cool facts about bees and so did the teachers! Our school will definitely keep booking incursions with Coastal Nectar in the years to come!

The Foundation kids are all buzzing about Tom the Beekeeper! Tom was fantastic from the start- easy and professional to communicate with, with prompt responses to emails. Where Tom truly shines though is his interactions with the kids, he definitely could be a teacher! Tom gave clear and interesting information with a patient and kind manner with the Foundation students. He was always well prepared, and the students loved the real beekeeping equipment and items that they could touch and explore. The fact that he is so local to the school and was familiar with the community was a bonus! The students hung on Tom's every word, as he shared his beekeeping expertise it was clear that Tom is extremely passionate and knowledgeable in this area. I've raved about him to other classes in the school and it's likely that Tom will be back at our school for years to come. Thankyou from the newest Beekeeper Tom fans at Bellbrae Primary School!

Coastal Nectar is a of one a kind, unique, sustainable and inspirational business. They not only produce the most deliciously, fresh, eco friendly honey you've ever tasted but also do an incredible job educating children about the importance of Bees as a key stone species for our food chain, ecological processes and ultimately humanities survival. They have a fun, enthusiastic, interactivate teaching approach inspiring children to learn about the sciencetific aspects of bee behaviour, ecology and anatomy. I would highly recommend this business to schools and families.

Bee Keeper Tom visited our Year 2's yesterday for an incursion on 'World of Bees'. It was a fantastic learning experience for our cohort, as we move into our new unit on 'Insects'. Tom's manner was warm, friendly and professional. His activities were pitched perfectly to our age-group and activities were engaging and appropriate. We really like how the hour included a mix of movement, listening, tactile exploration and scientific facts and knowledge. I would definitely recommend this incursion for anyone who is studying bees or insects. Cheers, Clare
