Arcare Aged Care Templestowe

This facility looks impressive and provides good care. The downfall is the horrible food prepared. Many attempts have been made to management, emails and meetings with absolutely no outcome to rectify the u healthy tasteless mush they serve residents. It’s appalling. They do not care as they assume they are old and it doesn’t matter. Residents pay a very high levy for food per week and it is not acceptable.

After 3 years of my Mum living here, would I choose Templestowe Arcare again given everything I now know about life in Aged Care...probably not. No matter how beautiful or clean a centre is what matters most ultimately is how your loved ones are treated when they most need it. Unfortunately it was a terrible 1 week leading to the day my mother passed away...stuff ups after stuff ups...worse thing was Arcare management refused to take responsibility and instead pointed the finger at their own staff...no you are ultimately responsible for your staffs actions. To say we are disappointed by how our mother was treated at the end of her life is an understatement. If I had known now I would have pulled her out and put her in a proper palliative care centre as they were grossly inept to deal with her quick deterioration ..worst still there was pain and suffering involved that I was told was anxiety". If it wasn't for my mother's nephrologist's intervention by her attending Arcare...who knows how long my mother's actual pain and suffering would have gone on.Will be lodging a complaint as my emails written to management were just ignored. Mum's nephrologist also encouraged us to make a complaint.Mum was happy here in her 1st year prior to Covid but since then there has been a rapid deterioration at the centre

Arcare Templestowe has exceeded our expectations time and time again, and has enabled our family to finally rest easy knowing our loved one is being cared for 24 hours and day, 7 days a week.Not only is the residence modern, clean and spacious, it is also extremely safe and secure.Thank you to all the team members at Arcare especially Lorraine and Adam who have made my loved one feel right at home from her very first day!

I found the overall experience of the tour quite dismissive and the last comment of Well you get what you pay for" appalling. It gives the impression that if you do not have the funds to pay you are not worthy of a decent level of care and pleasant surroundings."

Think again before placing a loved one in facility… poor medical care and treatment my father received, resulting in rapid deterioration and death… even after findings from aged care commission they have never contacted…. Lack of care for deceased belongings - found packed in garbage bags at door even after we advised when we would attend

We currently have a loved one in Arcare Templestowe and are happy with the level of care and service.Adam the Residence Manager has been very supportive and compassionate whilst dealing with us & overseeing our loved ones transition into high care.The staff/personal carers have been lovely. Thank you.

I cannot thank enough everyone at Arcare Templestowe for the selfless and tender care and attention during my late wife's time there. Arcare's cultural respect and unqualified comfort and friendships of other residents deservesfull acknowledgement on public record.

Arcare Templestowe is modern, clean and comfortable. The nursing staff are doing a great job even under difficult circumstances and minimal staffing. If this is what you want for your loved one, then look no further. But after 3 years of my mother complaining of the food quality, she has succumbed to sandwiches for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The meals are so so bad that the waste bins are full of uneaten food. What's the point in residence paying for food that ends in landfill. I have seen and tasted the meals for myself. Undercooked, overcooked, unrecognisable food, you name it, they'll serve it. As an elderly you deserve better. I'm sure I'll get a response by arcare but this is not the first time there has been food complaints and being promised it will be rectified.
