Sew & Hem

The ladies at Sew & Hem are truly amazing with their alterations and customer service. I first used their services in 2019 for my year 12 formal dress which turned out amazing. I visited them again this month, this time to get my wedding dress altered which is an experience that can be a little stressful as you want to make sure it's done right.The ladies at Sew & Hem, however, were very reassuring and professional. They were very clear on costs and when I could expect the alteration to be completed (which they did exactly on time!) and the measuring was very efficient. Plus the dress turned out great!I can say with confidence that I am extremely happy with their services and would definitely recommend to anyone who needs alterations.

Incredibly rude owner who has absolutely no personal skills when dealing with the public, hanging up on your call mid sentence.Acts like she is doing you a favour just talking to you.Would never use their services again.

I have done alterations on multiple occasions, particularly for my work suits as I have a unique body shape and size and it has been nothing but the best. Even though I live about half an hour away from Stanhope, I always drive there to get my clothes done because they also give their expert advice on what alterations and fittings would suit my body shape best.

I’ve used this place many times before, however lately they’ve been absolutely hopeless. Delayed alterations are becoming the norm, and are quite frustrating when you’ve got an event to go to and need it done by the agreed date. I’ve also phoned and asked for a service, only to get there and battle the horrendous carpark, to find out they misinformed me on the phone.

ammature job, left obvious seam marks on the back of all my jeans instead of opening them up and taking them in properly at the existing seams. To top it off, insanely rude customer service. The blonde lady was fine to deal with but the rest of the staff were unnecessarily rude. Will not be coming back here again - absolute waste of money.I paid for an original take in costing the $40 for one pair of jeans and $25 for the other two as advised by the person that pinned my clothes for me. I did not 'choose' any options nor was I even advised on how she was going to alter my clothing. I just paid what she told me it was going to cost. Nevertheless it's laughable because all the garments have been altered the exact same way regardless of what I paid for them.

Tucked away in Stanhope Village Shopping Centre, this store is the BEST place for any alterations. We went here to alter my bridesmaid dresses and they did such a wonderful job. Very quick consultation were we went over everything that needed to be done, and the ladies made some very helpful suggestions. Very quick service, our dresses were completed in 2 days, and the price was so affordable! Such an amazing little alterations shop that i would highly recommend to anyone!

I’ve had several garment added here including adding several darts to dresses to take them in with lining. I was very impressed to see they did the lining separately to the dress later - ie 8 darts sewn in each dress. I teach sewing at school and still prefer to have my garments altered here instead of doing it myself.

I couldn't thank the two wonderful Ladies at the Tailor so much for their professional and good work on altering all the designer clothes for my wife. They do a perfect job and on time. They did a wonderful alterations on designer clothes such as Carla Zampatti, Rebecca Vallance, Montique, Burberry and more. Very professional finish. Thank you again to Sew & Hem.
