Devenish Art Silo

Every time i visit there is something new added. I love it all. Very beautifully done.

Silo art trail, here in Devenish the art work was outstanding and a grand recognition of our services members.The agricultural museum (open walled structure) was full of machinery that brought back so many memories.

Looking back into history we find such a wealth of information and knowledge about who our family or friends are.Do yourself a favour and look into some family tree, research and find who and what yout family did to help create this amazing country we live in now.Head out suppprtt the local pub or cafes in a place off the normal track. Beautiful silo art with a table and bench in front of it for you to have a picnic.

Awesome murals! Worth the drive, and don’t forget to spend some time reading the plaques as well! There are park tables so you can actually pack a picnic lunch. Not much in the way of shops there (I saw one tiny storefront).Don’t forget to go into the little lane across from the silos. There is another painting there!

Magnificent silo art display honouring war heroes and incorporating an ANZAC memorial. Located in the picturesque old town of Devenish. This is the best silo art display I’ve seen so far.

Drove past here the other day and found the artwork impressive. At the site there is a memorial to Sally who was a explosive detection dog also a memorial for the local soldiers.The silo art represents the sacrifice of people in military service it represents the historical image of a First World War nurse juxtaposed with the current role of women in front line service in this case a combat medic.This artwork is a visual tribute to the 50 young men and women from Devenish community who enlisted in the first world war focusing on the role of nurses in service and how that role has evolved overtime.

The (Victorian) Silo Art Trail meanders through the different remote tiny towns in the rich wheat growing area of the Goulburn River Valley --  a most iconic, beautiful, and historic area of central northern Victoria.The Silos are all variously situated always very close to their town's local pub and the town's local railway siding, all of which were built in the 1880's. Not much has changed since.We have much enjoyed exploring the by-waysof this stunningly beautiful part of Australia.
