I’ve been going to Franks for years but the pizza is totally different now. I got a “Franks Special” tonight and it was nothing like what it used to be. It was soggy and large pieces of ham it, hardly any veggies or pepperoni, personally I found it gross and I couldn’t eat it. It used to have pepperoni, some other meats sliced thinly too, small diced ham, lots of veggies likes capsicum, mushroom etc, thin and crispy base etc. Now it is nothing like this - very sad.

We have been going to Franks since we moved to the area years ago, the owners were wonderful, really welcoming and kind. Unfortunately the past couple of experiences have not been great, with the change of management. We ordered pasta & pizza, only to realize when we got home the pizza was burnt. I called to inform and the manager told me.. “i dint make the pizza”. That’s not the right response to your customers. Unfortunately we won’t be back. It’s a shame, this place was iconic and we used to brag about it everyone.

Franks used to be my go to place for many many years. But not anymore. I don’t understand how new owners can walk into an already established business and change ingredients just to save money and make things worse. I cannot believe how terrible the pizzas are today. I’m absolutely disappointed. My kids loved this place but the pizzas we had there the other week have to be the worst pizzas Iv ever had in my life.I didn’t want to write this review but I was left with no choice.To the new owners, check out my last review I wrote on this place. I gave it a 5 star review.

They have fliers up saying “download out app and get $10 discount!” I ignored it but then the waitress mentioned it and said the app had great deals. I caved and downloaded it, it said i couldn’t claim the $10 until i made a membership… so i signed up, put my card details in. Finally i get to the menu after about 10mins of creating an account, i click the claim $10 button and it says i have to “redeem 1000 points to get $10 off”.. you get points by ordering food i assume. I was pretty annoyed. Also the pizza was average and the mediums are undersized for their price. Also who tf puts anchovies on a supreme.

NEW OWNERPositives: Pizza still tasted goodNegative: NO BYO, wine list too expensive, pasta too soft and prices are expensive.I wont go back again mainly because they were selling the same items & same potion sizes as old owner but at a higher price. And No BYO was another reason.

Such a disappointment. Have been coming here for years and these new owners have done a number.The two main dishes we ordered were exactly as good as they have ever been.The pizza, however, was terrible. The ham on the Frank’s special had the worst smell, and the bruschetta was a thin garlic pizza base with crushed tomatoes and no flavour.Won’t bother coming back, what a shame.

NEW OWNER UPDATEWe have been going to Franks from when it was in the other building when Franks owned it himself and then his nephew, over 20 years. We’ve had kids parties there and always met with friends - it was an institution. We booked a table for 8 last night. One of our friend was already there and said no longer BYO !! Always has been. The change was not communicated when I booked. Apparently the owner not happy that he makes no money on byo! But then he will lose business as we won’t be back our bill was twice the usual. Apparently they are setting up a small bar, owner doesn’t understand what Franks is about. Families with young kids and groups of friend all local to inner west , this is what’s made it popular a good reasonably cheap eat.Staff friendly but pushing for an order and not everyone had arrived.Pitza’s soggy!Internals looks good and our table nice.Sad to see this institution spoilt we won’t be back.OLD REVIEWFresh, friendly and family ownedWe have been here countless times and the Italian salad, pitza and calamari are really good. The staff are nice and try hard to ensure you feel welcome. It BYO and you will get chilled glasses.parking in nearby streets and toilet on premise.Popular with families so if you want a bit less noise book for 7 pm and later. If your a family kids very welcome.

I ordered the Pork sausage and Potato pizza. It was absolutely delicious, but lacking in the sausage department as the photo shows. Great dough, perfectly cooked and the rosemary pulled it altogether.
