Wilpena Pound Resort

We stayed 3 nights in a family glamping tent with our 2 adult children. Beds were comfortable. The nights were around 40 degrees Fahrenheit and the side were the kids slept was a bit cool. A cool experience but pretty pricey for a souped up tent. The food was good in the restaurant…good selection for breakfast and dinner. There were plenty of empty tents around us, many with a better view of the ranges, but the resort placed a group of ladies right next to us who partied and played loud music…not very thoughtful on the resorts part. Overall a great experience and an amazingly beautiful part of Australia.

Couldn't really review on the resort as I didn't stay the night but could definitely review on the food. All i could say is this is one of the best beef burgers I ever had. So juicy and tender. If you are looking for food in Flinders rangers, have a try at the beef burger at this resort.

Great central spot for hikes. Bathrooms and new and clean, the sites are very tidy. The restaurant is great. The camp kitchen is small and distant so it is better if you can do your own barbecues. For hikes make sure you do Wangara Lookouts, Mount Ohlssen Bagge to see the actual 'pound', and the St Mary Peak hike.

Didn't stay over this time round but the room last time was fab. It's a beautiful place and if you like the walks this is the place. There are an abundance of places to see and this time round we took a part way walk to the homestead but just to the water hole. We went to Jarvis Hill which was an easy climb, but a rock surface but not difficult in dry weather. Great look out over the Southern Ranges.

Absolute gem of a spot, staff were super helpful, location is spot on, sites are large and easy to get your van into, amenities clean and in great condition, fuel, supermarket, restaurant and pool on on site, breakfast and dinner was beautiful and well pricedOver all, couldn't be happier

We camped on a powered site and although of the facilities need some maintenance, the service and staff were fabulous and went out of their way to be helpful. The walks are amazing and well sign-posted, suggested times were pretty close for the more strenuous walks. We dined twice at the restaurant, the food was excellent as was the service.

Stayed only 2 nights to do some of the hikes in the pound. Could have stayed much longer. Was a beautiful place, staff were lovely and helpful. Amenities were very clean and small IGA with all that you need. Great hikingCamped in non powered site. Plenty of space surrounded by big trees.

We spent a few nights camping here. The facilities is great and clean at all the time. There's campsite kitchen, picnic area, washing machine and hot shower. If you are short of something you can get it from the IGA express behind the information centre.

We stayed two nights in a glamoung tent. The tent was very comfortable and warm. The view from the deck of the tent was spectacular! The restaurant was a short walk away through the trees. The food at restaurant really good but the dining room lacks atmosphere. I think they could reduce the amount of lighting to improve the atmosphere!
