The Language Academy

After failing the Academic IELTS test twice, I decided to improve my English with the IELTS course of The Language Academy. It was the best decision as I finally had the grades I needed to enrol at Uni. I really recommend this course and the school in general :)Camille

Changing teachers all the time and classrooms, installations of school aren’t finished yet, there’s a lot of people and no space for all of them, now a lot of tests, not worth it at all for the amount of money you pay for it.

THE BEST I HAVE DONE IN MY LIFE my name Tatiana Chilean Accountant, I just arrived from Australia, I am 67 years old and I always wanted to learn English, I chose The Language Academy, in Gold Coast, I studied 14 weeks intensive with 20 hours per week, and I really happy, I always felt welcome, they have excellent teachers, I had daily tasks and that helped me a lot to exercise what I learned in the day, very enjoyable classes where there is no monotony, all my classmates much younger than me was a student, As I felt wonderful, we made trips to parks or interesting places with teachers and the interaction was magnificent. The excellent homestay that the Academy provides, with the three daily meals and I always felt at home, recommended 100%

The new rule is that if you are not at the door by 8.15 am, they will NOT let you in. You have to wait outside until 9 am. Being that I can show the parking ticket in which it shows that I was in the complex before 8.15 and I wasted time looking for a place for my car. This school is not cheap. but just as they demand with the arrival time we must begin to demand better conditions since they promise personalized classes with a maximum of 10 students per course and we are more than 14, the classrooms do not have windows and there is not enough space to spend 5 hours there indoors.

I have had other experiences with language schools around the Gold Coast and I can easily say that The Language Academy has surprised me in the best way possible. It is located in the heart of the city, in one amazing shopping mall, really close to the beach, their staff is always helpful and all teachers are incredible. It is the place to learn a second language.

I have been learning Spanish for a long period of time at University and when I discovered that The Language Academy had Spanish classes in the Gold Coast I had to try it out! The classes here are perfect! They're small and practical and having to go to University during the day and working on weekends I had limited time to learn the language. However The Language Academy easily worked around that by offering me evening group classes as well as private lessons!Due to my Spanish skills improving greatly thanks to the many qualified Spanish teachers here, I have received an opportunity to do an internship in Colombia!I 110% would recommend this place to learn any of their variety of languages such as German, Spanish, English and French as the teachers are all qualified professionals with lots of experience. They made me and all the other students feel comfortable and welcome in a great learning environment!

Very strange business. I enrolled in a course I was unable to commence due to serious health issues. I first tried contacting the teacher to receive materials so I could at least study at home and get something from the course. The course promises a study book but the teacher said no materials were available and recommended Duolingo?! I was told no refund was possible and when I challenged this due to compassionate circumstances, was told it's not fair on the school when people withdraw from courses! I found out they hadn't actually explained to admin (who don't return valve) why I had withdrawn... So now I'm waiting for them to 'consider' this but each time I call I just get told they will communicate by email. So I'm still waiting 2 weeks later. Definitely out to make money and impossible to talk to anyone other than the receptionists.

I've been studying english for 5 months at The Language Academy and I'm really happy that I have chosen this school on the Gold Coast.Great new location inside a shopping center, in the heart of the city and very close to the beach and park.The thing I like the most is a little number of students by class and very professional teachers who can focus on their students !

Be careful new students!!!I have never been through so much disregard in this school, I have been suffering for months with the low quality of teaching, feeling of having thrown my money in the trash and wasted time. I'm emotionally and psychologically exhausted, 10 months suffering silently, you're made of beast here. I can't stand being silent anymore, I spent my entire exchange quietly with fear, from school wanting to deport the students. Since the environment we should learn, we ended up becoming a hostage, being forced only to attend to keep the percentage of attendance acceptable.There are less than 2 months left for my course to finish, I'll be able to finish my course with the help of psychological treatment, that's what I got from this school. And I believe there are many students who don't say anything because they feel threatened as I felt, but now for me it's over I just want these two months to pass as soon as possible to finish this horrible experience almost 1 year suffering silently.

hello everyone, I want to share a situation that many students are going through here at school. First of all, I want to make it clear that I tried to talk to the school many times, and as expected, they don't respond or simply don't pay attention to what the students say. I feel here without a voice and I say the same to the teachers. I recently sent this email:“ Dear TLAI am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the excessive number of tests that we are required to take every week, and the lack of content that is being delivered as a result. As a student, I feel that the amount of testing that we are subjected to is unreasonable and counterproductive to our learning.Over the past few weeks, I have noticed that we are being given multiple tests per week, with little time to prepare adequately for each one. This has put an enormous amount of pressure on me and my fellow classmates, and I believe it is adversely affecting our ability to absorb and retain new information.Furthermore, I have noticed that the frequency of these tests has come at the expense of our class time. As a result, the material covered in class has become increasingly limited, and we are not receiving the full benefit of the curriculum that we have paid for.I believe that this situation is unacceptable and is causing unnecessary stress and frustration for students like myself. I am respectfully requesting that you review the current testing policies and consider reducing the number of tests we are required to take, while also ensuring that we are receiving the appropriate amount of content during class time.Thank you for your attention to this matter.Sincerely,”By the end they they didn't answer me and continued to treat us as if we were just money in their pocket and not a person. I do not recommend this school to anyone.
