Some honest feedback from a local that I hope the owners can take as genuinely constructive suggestions for improvement. It's not all bad, but our dinner tonight means we won't be rushing back. With its proximity to the Australind Estuary, this fish & chip shop could be an asset for tourism and visitors to the area. It is, unfortunately, pretty unremarkable. There doesn't seem to be any joy in the kitchen, just stress of being under the pump. The quick remedy for this is limit/simplify the menu and try some new processes (mise en place is everything).I do question whether staff and ownership have lost their passion through Covid and with rising costs - likely not helped by what I've heard are very steep rents in this centre.Still, it could be worth visiting some other chip shops to see how they make a simple meal like this sing with only minimal inexpensive changes. Suggest looking at TANKK in Como for inspo. The good:Salad was fresh, serves of sauces are large (even if standard catering stuff). Lemons are free (but should be kept in the fridge for freshness). Batter was crispy, on the heavier side, but not claggy. Decent fish portions. The less goodOur whole meal was so salty. Consider switching to sea salt as the table salt used is overpowering. Fairly certain that the shark and snapper used were frozen. Not unusual but it does give a overly firm or mushy texture. The averageOthers have said it but this place is a little stingy on the chips and the kind used are doughy cheap ones. It makes one feel swindled. Switching brands/suppliers might be a simple way to lift the game here.

Brought $6 worth of chips, and portion size seemed well under the average quantity. Disappointing amount for the money.

We only came back because Treendale fish and chips was closed... we should have given it a miss, once again, somehow, a fish and chip shop can't cook chips.Bought only $5 chips, (because I wouldn't waste my money on anything else there).Discolored, soggy and an absolute rip off as far as value for money goes.To be fair We had picked a couple of chips out before this picture, but it was not much more than what is shown. Just head to Treendale for some real fish and chips.Won't be back.

Horrible. We bought in our own fish for them to cook (which they usually do perfectly) but we’ve got home and the fish is soggy not crispy at all, the batter underneath seems undercooked. Chips are over cooked. Mind you we only live 2 minutes down the road so not like we were driving to get home for long for it to get so soggy. Won’t be returning which is a pity as this is usually our favourite fish and chip shop.disappointing

The last two times we have purchased food from here it has been over cooked. On the first occasion the gummy shark we ordered was not shark and it was over cooked. Tonights effort was overcooked and the chiko roll wasnt edible was as tough as leather. Food tastes like its cooked in old oil. We wont be back in a hurry

Food was good but hygiene was poor with staff not using gloves to prepare fresh food for frying and also noticed long black fingernails when being served which was offputting.

Chips were terrible, half were over cooked and I know prices and times have changed but ordered $8 of chips and what we got for that wasn’t a lot, if your going to give minimal chips at least have them cooked right and edible
