Silkwood School

Absolutely love Silkwood! They are a fantastic school that provides more than an education. My children are thriving there and love going to school. They prepare children for the future and encourage them to discover who they are - what they like, what their natural talents are and over all, what brings them joy. This school is truly progressive and we are so grateful to be there.

Silkwood School is a place to learn and improve your abilities., although it lacks in parking, staff and a few other things, I still enjoy being at the school. It's a safe enviromental place to work and most of the students are nice and sweet. The teachers care about your wellbeing and each of them has their own personalities. Two Stars for it's staff, One star for it's students, half a star for it's place and the last half for it's caring. Still love it as I finish my last year here.

A wonderful natural based and inclusive school that embraces all children and their unique qualities.This isn’t a mainstream type school where children get lost in the system and become just a number, this school is unique in the way it presents the curriculum, embracing each child as a whole and giving each child their own curriculum and goals to work towards based on their individual strengths and interests, scaffolding their learning to become high quality achievers and entrepreneurs.Set amongst a beautiful natural surrounding, within the hinterland region of the Gold Coast and the forest, the school takes the children on a magical adventure of wonder with a strong appreciation for all things nature.Children are encouraged to help build veggie gardens, to help build on the eco system in positive and sustainable ways by planting trees in their surroundings and caring for the environment.As an Early Childhood Educator myself, coming to find this school was like hitting the jackpot. Can’t recommend it highly enough and am so thrilled my children will be learning the Silkwood Way.

My son's have flourished since being at Silkwood. They are in charge of their own learning which is driven by their interests while guided and supported by their Advisor (teacher). I wish there were schools like this when I was a child.

The happiest my son has ever been. To see him go to school with a smile and at the end of his day, coming home with that same smile is all a parent can dream of.

The Silkwood school distance education program is a good program for kids with anxiety or are struggling on the social side of School. Wanda and Stephan are amazing. Would recommend if your kid is struggling with mainstream school.

While I'm sure it would have been great in Primary School, the senior school's only redeeming quality is it's camps, which are fun and informing. The school itself is not too bad but the people could work on their personalities lol, love y'all!

Incredibly inclusive environment with such a Brilliant Curriculum. Never seen a school with a better program to equip children with the skills they need to make the most out of their lives!

Silkwood is an amazing school! My son absolutely loves it and we are so impressed with the school. The curriculum is set up for success and the kids get to determine their learning through personal interest projects. Everyone we have interacted with (advisors, admin, tech, etc) have gone above and beyond and are incredibly friendly. We highly recommend Silkwood School.

I myself was a student at this school up until 2019. Silkwood offers a very relaxed environment for students with no homework and little academic responsibility. No offering of science classes or any mentioning of STEM.I had mutliple people in my grade who told me that their teacher told their parents that they were on a 4th grade math level in grade 8 before I left which was pretty worrying. I would have had no chance to get where I am now if not for leaving Silkwood and moving to Southport State High School.
