Alpine Trout Farm

Awesome place. No entry fee, no rode hire fee, fish bait for free and only pay for what you catch. They have 3 different ponds with 3 different fish in it (rainbow trout, golden trout and salmon). Fish vary in size - if you lucky enought you can actually catch a really dicent one. We spent there about 3h and managed to catch 2 salmons and 7 rainbow trouts. All priced very effordably. No dogs allowed. Not overcrowded. Toilets available. Card payment available. Ability to purchese smoked fish. Host is super friendly and he will clean the fish for you and pack it up with ice pack for safe transport. Will be back for sure.

Perfect place to purchase fresh trout. Catch it, clean it, and bbq it under the shade of the trees. Great fun for kids. If you prefer cooking by the river, just go down the street, and there you will find playground for the kids and undercover bbq/seating area.

The owner is kind and nice, beautiful place, good place for family or just want to relax in the afternoon.

We went in the afternoon and found it to be a calm and quiet place with only few other people fishing. We caught around 7 rainbow trouts and cooked 2 of them at the farm. The owner was very helpful and got us the fishes marinated. Highly recommended for kids and families.

Alpine trout farm is excellent place to start if you want to enjoy catching fish straight from the farm, specially for kids. You can catch so many fish inside time as the fish are within their fish tank and designated ponds. The trouts are really tasty and very big sizes can be caught how's the weather up there are some rainbow trout and Californian trout. The owner is very and the price of the court fish is Per kilo. The take EFTPOS so don't bother if you can catch more. They offer cleaning up the fish and putting them inside a nice iced thermo box for long travel only for $5 for the box. Trout ranges from 16 to 22 dollars a kilo according to the size of the fish. In the farm there is nice place for for enjoying the tranquility and take your lunch snacks. There is an onsite toilet for real emergency, so the toilet should not be expected for public. It is just 1 and half hour from Melbourne. Worth visiting there. just less than half an hour from the great Amphitheatre Falls at the toorongo reserve park in Noojee.

I have tried fishing in Alpine Trout Farm for three times.One of the best activities that you can have, especially for kids or if you have never done fishing or if you always like fishing!You will be given the fishing rod and the bait. You can have the best experience of fishing, without any prior experience.They will also clean the fish and give it to you, ready for cooking.The staff are very kind and welcoming.Highly recommended.

A lovely spot in Noojee to try your hand at fishing. There are a number of ponds to fish and you’ll be guided by the staff which ones to use. While we were there a couple had caught 5 pretty quickly. As someone who used to fly fish, trout farms are renowned for the fish to be easy to catch - which is kind of the point.I could see rainbow trout but not sure if there was brown trout as well.Once you’ve caught t your fish you take them inside and if you want, have them killed then filleted and prepared for you.There is also smoked trout already for you to purchase and take home.Kind of wheelchair accessible but could be hard on the wet grass. Definitely kid friendly. Plenty of parking on site. Noojee township not far away for a cuppa afterwards.

We love this place! Have become regular visitors because of the beautiful view, fun fishing and tasty fish. I have been smoking my own freshly caught trout and can confirm, it is off the wall delicious!
