ANISE EVENT CATERING

I would not recommend Brendon and Anise Catering. My sister decided to hire him for her wedding based on some Instagram images and hospitality word-of-mouth; to this end, no idea who was so unprofessional they thought they'd pass Anise on to her.It was not an auspicious start back in November, when Brendon overlooked email correspondence, or was tardy in his replies. There were always excuses and this went on through December. When we finally locked him into meeting with him and doing tastings at the start of January , he forgot what date he himself had arranged, never mind the time. I had called the day beforehand and left voicemail at his now defunct restaurant at Westfield Coomera, No-one called me back to confirm the tastings that my partner and I were attending on behalf of my sister.When my partner and I turned up at the agreed date and time, Brendon was nowhere to be found, and his staff had not checked the voicemail and had no idea about it. Brendon had not passed on his mobile phone number, so I asked his staff to call. He then had to drive up from Nth NSW and was even late for the time he quoted from there, so my partner and I roamed Westfield Coomera for 3 hours.His tastings were not impressive and he made excuses for his dried out pork belly etc.Despite our warnings, my sister went ahead with him.From there on it was more miscommunication from Brendon; he then had the audacity to try to charge her another $900 to feed his staff at her wedding.The day of the wedding came last week and Brendon's food was woeful. Not only was the bridal platter a meagre amount of dry fish with tiny saltbush and unimpressive duck on stale toast, the food came out at 230pm when all the bridal party, nevermind the guests, were starving. Brendon had a huge kitchen to work in and was only catering for 48 people with his own staff.Brendon did not stick to his own menu, e.g. the broccolini was not char grilled, it was very raw and barely cooked. The potatoes could be effectively used as tiny rock-like weapons. There was no seasoning or flavour in the foods.Everyone was so hungry by then we ate it. The portions were tiny, I estimate 75g for the fish, about 100g for the meat for the mains. Yet when I walked into the house past the kitchen I noted that Brendon had plated 3 times the amount for himself and his staff! Even by his own meagre standards, he'd fallen short and could not deliver.TL;DR - Anise is a joke and I get better food down the road at my local pub tavern. Save your money and hire a professional, not this clown.

Brendo and the team catered for our wedding of 120 guests with absolute ease. He was easy to work with and flexible with timings to suit other happenings, working closely with our MC and band to ensure a smooth evening. The food was spot on and all of our guests raved about how delicious it was. There was plenty of food, with everyone well fed. Brendo was happy to cater for what we wanted, providing us with an icecream bar for dessert over a traditional cake. Thanks a bunch!!

Brendon and the Anise team went above and beyond for our event, the catering was phenomenal, all the guests raved about the food and we couldn't have asked for a better caterer. Will DEFINITELY be reaching out to him again for our next event! Thanks so much team for being sensational at what you do. You made the day so easy.

We have had Brendan and his awesome team cater 2 events for us now over the years. They are friendly, fun & professional, always going that extra step to making our parties even more memorable. Would recommend for weddings and any special event.

Brendon was really great to work with. He gave us helpful advice on catering for our wedding and was able to accommodate some major unforseen last minute changes without breaking a sweat. The food was amazing and the staff were brilliant. We couldn't have asked for more.

These guys from Anise are awesome, in particular Brendon who is the owner. He was so easy to deal with, so friendly and really accommodating with our budget and choices for the menu. He made us feel so relaxed and catering wasn’t really anything we had to worry about from the moment we booked him up to the wedding day. Brendan and his team were superb. A friendly, professional service, with last minute changes to accomodate us and our guests. The food was outstanding, and we had so many guests blown away by what was provided.Anise offers catering which is a little bit different, if you want it. To be able to provide delicious tacos and dumplings as a starter instead of the usual tasting platter was just such a wonderful option.As well as the outstanding service and quality of food, Brendan as a person always had us feeling at ease with his great vibe, friendly demeanour and an attitude of being able to make anything work.Couldn't recommend highly enough!Reuben & Maddie
