Picturesque ocean front restaurant with views along the Gold Coast coastline. Save the hassle of choosing and do the tasting menu. By far the best item was the Bay Bug Rolls. I could order 6 of these as a main and be happy. Overall great experience.

Venue: the ocean view is a nice position, simple and elegant style inside. It is right next to the Burleigh heads main beach so during the day your view is of half naked swimmers. At night it would be quite nice.Food: Overpriced for the serving sizes you get. $22 for a small bug roll, though tasty, it was gone in two bites. I’m sure you could find a bug roll at another restaurant/food truck for a third of the price, tastier and a much more generous serve. The price for a red duck curry and trout is a robbery. Flavours were nice just not outstanding for a restaurant in this price range. Essentially $49 for a whole lot of curry sauce and a small serve of duck. Crazy!Service: All staff super friendly. The downfall is how long we waited between dishes. 40mins to receive our first dishes, and another 1hr after that to receive mains.Overall, the experience was unsatisfactory and would not recommend.

Fried Moreton Bay Bug Roll $22The Brioche bun was tasty and the fried bug was crispy.Red Curry, Sichuan Roasted Duck Breast, Confit Duck Leg, Lychee $49 & Charred Roti $9There’s duck leg in the red curry not only the roasted duck meat. The dish came after 45mins since the bun arrived, and unfortunately, it was just “warm”. The taste and the roti were alright.

This was recommended by our friends as a must do and whe where not disappointed.Great service and happy staff.The waitress explained everything and was very helpful in describing some of the dishes.Had an awesome table looking back towards Gold Coast great view and experience.Food came out and it's presentation was awesome.Had a great time and looking forward to coming back.

We had a fantastic experience, the food was superb, great service, felt a tad rushed but overall very happy. The only complaint I have is of the restrooms, they are really disgusting for what is a classy place.

An amazing dining experience, from the moment we arrived we knew we were in for a treat. Staff were incredible - attentive, personable, knowledgeable, and informative. Beautiful setting - best table on a perfect day. Food and wine is so amazing, every course was sensational, perfectly portioned and precision timing. Such a professional team, an overall memorable lunch. Kudos to Liz, Sophie and all the staff. Can't wait for our next visit.

The cocktails are the best, the food is amazing, cannot go past the bug rolls and the lobster dumplings. And the best staff engagement - special mention to Elizabeth, enthusiastic and bubbly, making every visit a treat!

TLDR: The visit did not live up to our expectations. Subpar service, tasteless food and a restaurant with a lack of respect for itself.We were quite excited for our visit to Rick Shores as we had been recommended the restaurant, been told about the beautiful views and amazing food. We had also read many good things about the place. Upon arrival we were absolutely stunned by the views. We arrived about ten to fifteen minutes before our table was ready. We were kindly offered a seat outside to enjoy some drinks while we waited. Even though we sat there for ten to fifteen minutes they did not manage to serve us all the drinks ordered, and we had to ask for them multiple times.After we were seated at out table we were finally served our last drinks ordered on arrival. We were assisted with the menu by a lovely waiter when ordering. He helped us pick out some popular dishes and some of his favourite. The problem here being the sizes projected. We where told with multiple of the dishes that they were so big that it was enough food for at least two persons as a main, and it would be to much for a single person to eat alone. Upon receiving the dishes to our table, after an unacceptable long wait, the dishes were only comparable to starters in sizes, and could not even have qualified as a child's portion. We did not even get all the dishes we ordered. Even though the server went through the order with us to make sure he got everything right we were missing a total of four dishes. The dishes we did receive were nicely presented, but tasteless and unsatisfactory. There was one dish however we were somewhat satisfied with. Although it to was totally tasteless, the lamb was really tender and melted in the mouth.Our waiter did not have any knowledge of wine, but knidly and professionally asked the somalier for help in choosing a wine pairing for the food. The wine selection was good, but I was shocked when I saw one of the servers sitting on the floor pouring wine between bottles. (See picture) The sparkling water, the most difficult thing to mess up, was completely without carbonation throughout all my 7 glasses. Even after informing the staff two time and getting new glasses of water both times, there was no improvement.Having said this we were pleased with the view and the fact that we were offered to move to a table with a better view as soon as one became available.My rating may seam harsh with only 2/5 stars, but the rating is relative to the expectations set by the price and reviews of the restaurant. We will unfortunately not be back

Restaurant with nice sea view and vibe. But the food is a bit pricy. Oysters were fresh and the Thai style sauce was appetising.We also ordered wagyu pot stick dumplings. I think they deep fried the dumplings which made it less authentic. But I do appreciate the sauce which was quite delicious and not too spicy.Love the cocktail with a fresh and nice yuzu flavour.
