Alex's Shoe Repair

Took a pair of boots here that needed repairing. They did a great job at fixing the soles. Great, quick service and friendly staff. Highly recommend!

I had a boot with a broken zip and took it to Alex on a Saturday afternoon after trying two places in Southland that estimated a week turnaround. He said it would be ready for collection by the following Monday. I was pleased to receive a message from him only an hour after drop-off saying that the boot was ready for collection. He had me check the zip prior to payment and it worked perfectly. It's really satisfying to know that if I ever need anything repaired promptly, I can take it to Alex and receive friendly and efficient service.

Kind and professional. Took a leather bag in to be altered and it was done in less than an hour. Absolute master at his craft!

We've used Alex's Shoe repair several times over the years. A little hidden gem for a trade that I fear will be lost in the years to come. Wife took a pair of shoes to be re-soled - owner was honest enough to tell her that the cost of putting a new sole of them wasn't worth it for the quality of the shoe and may as well buy new ones.Most recently I took my RM Williams boots to be get a new sole and heel. The leather had also been damaged after smashing them into a steel shelf at work probably 6 months earlier. Owner promised he could do what he could. Shoes were ready within 48 hours and not only was the new heel and sole stitched to probably an even better standard than new - the tear in the leather was repaired and is essentially invisible - and he didn't even charge me for it!!!!!! Incredible service and will not go anywhere else.

I took a denim skirt to be altered at Alex's and the seamstress was amazing! The skirt looked as though it had been purchased like that.On top of that it was very well priced and they were so friendly :)I will be taking all my clothing to them from now on, and wont hesitate to use the other services offered there too!11/10 recommend

I was in a rush and My trousers Needed a quick fix. The gentleman was very kind to help me out. Perfect job done and charged me reasonable price. Highly recommend the place.
