Powlett River Parking Lot

Relatively quiet spot, doesn’t appear to get a lot of fishing pressure just given the location. There’s a lot of bank access up and down the system. You should be able to walk down to the mouth from this car park however I didn’t do this so cannot confirm.

Great place to take a walk along the rivers edge down to the beach, could do with a grader going over short road in to get rid of the pot holes.

Great place to swim, slide down the sand dunes and walk on the beach or look at the rock pools for little creatures to see

After the rain there's a some really good paddles to drive through lol

Beautiful area of sand dunes, sea and extensive wetlands. Great place for a picnic. Lots of wetland bird life. Popular place for inland fishing. Worth a visit.

Had a great 4 days beach, bush walks, bike rides around Wonthaggi Desalination Plant, close to rail trail. Enjoyed some fishing. Extremely help full owners, Park in great condition.

Let's be clear, it is a parking lot. Good access to the river, surface was slightly uneven but not an issue for the older members of our group.

Good place to fish, stayed overnight in my Hilux. Just a walk to the beach and lovely scenery

Powlett River is awesome, for a swim, non motorised water toys...can paddle for quite a distance inland, or just have fun near the caravan park where it is quite a big area...sadly no facilities at all... So no five star.. beautiful walk along the river to where it meets Bass Straight, when the tide is out you can cross river to sand dune side, do be aware of tide times tho, as it can come n go fast,...lots of great walks along the beaches or thru the bush....on opposite side of river, two car parks over there for an easier way to the sand dunes and a nice walk from the river to Kilcunda and the Bridge.... Take away food shops at both Kilcunda and Dalyston.... Closest fuel Wonthaggi....great antique shops, Coffee shops, take away food and retailers...
