Hands down my favorite pizza place in town. The staff here are super lovely and will pay a lot of attention to your dietary requirements. I highly recommend getting their burrata with sourdough bread as a starter. Their pizzas are genuinely amazing and you should try it with their chili oil. Good desserts as well. I wish they had more variety of pizzas available though.

Unplanned dinner joy! We casually walked in our pajamas basically, and managed to snag a table within 15 mins. Pickled mussels, pepperoni pizza, and tiramisu were all amazing but the pizza was definitely the highlight. The cherry on top was our seating arrangement right in front of the wood fire oven. This experience will be living rent-free in my head for a while.

Excellent clam pizza. Sausage pizza was good, but certainly clam pizza triumphs over it. Both pizzas cost $30 each. Dinner can be really busy.. better to book ahead to get the good seats next time!

Excellent service. Staff were super attentive throughout the night. Coming back regularly to fill our cups and offer suggestions. The pizza range were amazing. Tastes way better than it looks. The tiramisu and cannoli were exquisite too! Even thought the takeaway box for leftover slices were quire cool.Would 100% come back!

YUM!!! I did not have a reservation when I went but since I was dining alone, I was seated at the bar promptly. I ordered the spicy sausage pizza which was delicious and a citrusy cocktail (forgot the name) which paired well with the pizza! The service was friendly and the atmosphere was lovely. I'll make a point to visit again when in Sydney! Very highly recommended!

Amazing pizza joint in Newtown. You must book in advance to get a seat. Their clam pizza is our favourite and a must order! We tried the Cavolo Nero pizza which was nice- great balance of spice, salt and an amazing charred crispy green. The service was also quite good. Only down side is that besides the small range of pizzas on offer the menu offers very little. Hoping to go back when they offer one of their specials

One of the best pizzerias in Sydney if not the best. Great vibe and nice food. Clam pizza has met its reputation, Pepperoni is how it suppose to be, both pizzas look nice and taste good. Highly recommend this place.

Yummy pizzas! The crust is pillowy, but not soggy. Woodfire gave it a nice smokiness, some nice burnt bits but not burnt. I like the mortadella the most, meaty with good flavour balance. Potato pizza was good too, garlic confit was creamy but not overpowering.Good service, not super busy for an early lunch, but always nice they have a booking system.

Despite the minimalist decor, Bella Brutta is warm and convivial, particularly if you find yourself at one of the tables in front of the Italian wood-fire oven. The bearded pizziaolo performs a hypnotising dance, expertly swinging his paddle from prep kitchen to finishing station with the blazing oven in between. The resulting black blistered bases—dubbed “beautiful ugly” in the restaurant name—eat very well.Clam pizza ($30) dices sweet surf clams and a tonne of garlic then coats them in fermented chilli. fresh parsley and pecorino to excellent effect. The base is puffy but sits lightly in the stomach, allowing you to precede it with a mountain of creamy Jersey milk cheese—stracciatella ($13)—smeared over thick-cut sourdough ($4/each). Pickled mussels ($15) in chilli oil go nicely on top adding a little zing and tang to all that creamy goodness. I’d probably skip over the kingfish tartare ($10/each) next time: served on Italy’s answer to tostadas, gnocco fritto, they were good but consumed too quickly for the price. They did suit the 2020 Sinapius ‘Jean Maurice’ gamay rosé ($17), the best option I could find from the 10-strong by-the-glass list. Staff have the sass and personality you’d expect from a venture by the experienced restaurateurs of LP’s Quality Meats and Porteno. A perfectly piped ricotta cannolo ($6) makes for a succinct, sweet end to my visit. Make the effort to visit and eat these pizzas in situ: they’re juicy, light and best served piping hot.
