Alabaster Motor Inn

If I could give 0 stars I most definitely would. My partner is a war veteran with a certified service dog and in December himself and his friend (also a vet with a service dog) booked this hotel as a stopover in their way to Canberra. They arrived at 10pm andwere told there room wasn't ready. They waited 45 mins and when they were told the room is ready the person checking them in saw the service dogs and told them they can't stay there. My partner and friend explained to them that they are service animals and are legally allowed anywhere they are, if not it is discrimination against their disabilities. The person then went and got the owner/manager who came out screaming and abusing them said he would burn his hotel down before letting those disgusting" animals in! They tried to talk but he kept yelling and told them to get out. My partner and his friend then had to find accommodation that was 24 hr check in seeing it was almost midnight. They had to drive a further 2 hours. Absolutely disgusting behaviour towards 2 men who have served their country!"

There was a dirty towel hung up on the door in the bathroom. There were hairs stuck to the wall in the shower. There was bits of rubbish on the carpet. One of the pillows smelt like perfume. The room did not appear to have been cleaned. I was very happy to leave as soon as I could in the morning.

Apparently clean sheets, but ripped, couldn't not see this when making it. Old food in fridge and dirty floor in the bathroom. Needs more attention to detail.

Would not recommend. Heaters/ACs were very noisy. Noise from next doors heater was so loud it was difficult to sleep. No hot water in the morning. No toaster in room.

Five stars isn’t enough: the motel is spotlessly clean and well stocked with enough coffee and tea for a family. There’s a kettle, fridge and microwave, plenty of toiletries… and the best part is that the kind gentleman stayed open late for us after another hotel ghosted us (what hotelcloses at 7:30?!). Can’t recommend this place enough.

Just saying - have stayed three to four times….. just want a room and the owner takes my credit card details and bills me for the MOST expensive room …..just taking advantage …..you think he would be looking after loyal customers must be his up bringing to RIP people off when he can….. I will look down the road maybe the Marco Polo as this owner has no care factor

That bed... the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. As soon as I hit the pillow I was out. If you want to break up your trip between south to north or vice versa, and need great value and super comfy, this ticks the box. The room was impeccably clean and the manager was friendly and welcoming. It's our new half way go to.

Needed somewhere to stay last minute and very late as I was travelling from Sydney to Brisbane unexpectedly.Arrived at 11:30 pm with key organised .I was very surprised by the room at how good it was. Plenty of towels , toiletries, big super comfy bed, nice couch , power points galore ( very convenient) big shower head and all the mod cons. For the price it was a bargain.I had recently stayed in a 5 star hotel and I found this room close to being on par, in-fact this room was better for layout.If you own an electric car they have a charging station ready for you as well.Perfect

Some rooms at this motel are beautifully renovated. Unfortunately, we had an older room which was not in very good condition.The front door lock barely locked which caused a bit of panic when we had to spend 5 minutes trying to open our room. Our room was also adjoining another, which provided no sound proofing at all. We could hear the quiet conversation of our neighbours and had to balance our TV volume with theirs.The TV had no satellite or pay TV which was advertised. There were no sockets anywhere near the bed, which was also advertised.When we returned to the room after dinner for a shower, after the office was closed and nothing could be done about it, we found that the shower door was broken and unable to close. When I took a closer look at the shower door, I also noticed small hairs from the previous user so I was put off using the shower all together.I also had to be careful where I laid my things as some of the corners had dusty cobwebs, though most areas were very clean.The bed was very comfortable and the toiletries provided were fantastic quality. These little touches would make for a 5 star stay in a new room but felt out of place in our broken little room with all the sounds of next door.Not a bad place to stay, but I would recommend calling to request a renovated room so you can make full use of the amenities and hopefully won't hear your neighbours!
