booked an appointment over the phone with specific request like to straighten hair and when getting there the reception staff was rude and impolite and when doing my hair no staff had communicated to actually straighten my hair , suggested for my hair to be trimmed , and cut so much off even tho i had asked for a trim , when coming to the end of the service i had asked for my hair to be straightened and they told me i should of said it earlier and that they didn’t have time, this was in my request and the girl even confirmed with me that is what i wanted , to top it off they wanted me to pay the full price including straightening and to pay it in cash , your staff need to be checked and learn how to be respectful of people hair. so disgusting

My wife go to this place to get her hair done. She come back home and is not happy. Her hair too dark. But it get worse because her hair feel very dry and sad. I look at her hair and it breaks in my hands like straw. What have they done to her beautiful hair. She embarrassed and crying. They charge her $450 to ruin my wife hair. She scared to complain because when she mention colour to Mimi she got aggressive and told her it is fine and will look like she want after it has a wash. This is not true and the hair has damage. She say Mimi is threatening person when you confront her.I take her to other hairdresser and they say they can't do much because the hair is badly damaged. How dare they take her money after what they did to her. They must surely know they do damage to her hair. But they still take her money. This is not ethical. We should have read reviews first. I read all the reviews here and see that Mimi and Salon City have ruined and damaged many woman hair. I feel sorry and sad for them after what they done. My wife confident lady and now she sad and wearing hat everywhere.Be very careful and read review first before you go dangerous place.

Asked for light brown balayage/ babylights. Came out after 1.5 hrs, with extremely damaged bleached yellow/greenish, uneven highlights which looked nothing like the photo I showed from their insta. Was charged an exorbitant price of $650, for a 1 hr bleach job + 10 mins toner at the hair wash basin. Hair was extremely damaged and felt completely ripped off. Very disappointed.

I came into salon city after seeing a video post from an influencer on instergram for nanoplasty. I was very amazed at what I saw as I seen some interesting reviews about this salon.Today I came into salon city and was greeted by the amazing Mimi herself and was glad she was there. She sat me down and gave me the true breakdown of everything that was needed to fix me up.Mimi is a very genuine person and very honest about price so there was no seprise at the end and also honest about the difference in service to help my hair and didn't push anything that I didn't need and was not pushy.I was there for a while and had lots of laughs felt like part of a family hear .Thank you salon cityBig thank you Mimi

If you go, I recommend bringing cash, as they charge you a little extra for using card. Also bring more than what you think you’d need to pay. Think the website needs to be updated with higher prices so customers know what to expect. Was expect $35 from what the website said, but then got charged more than double that. Despite cost, haircut was good even though they didn’t ask me what length I wanted. Got splashed with water and product in my eyes when I was getting my hair washed, but only minor.

Both my hair and bangs were cut lopsided and i was charged extra for a simple cut. I'm utterly disappointed I had to try fix the hair myself to make it look more even on both sides. Again I am incredibly upset I have never had my hair cut that poorly before.

Took my 4yr old for a trim. 4cm straight off the bottom and took less than 3 mins which she had to stand up for whilst the hairdresser was bending down because they didn’t have the right chair. Charged 37.50$ !!! When I said wth why that much her response was “adults cost 45$” before proceeding to doodle on her notebook. What kind of response is that? Complete rip off. I realised that they have rebranded as “lux” but it’s the same people I’ve had bad hair colour and cut from in the past. Never going there again. Stay away. They make up prices as they go. All the “deals” is for display only they don’t honour it at all.

Do not come here. Would give this place ZERO stars if I could. My healthy regrowth hair got chemically burned off (40 vol developer + bleach used, combined with scorching hot temperature using a heating device). During the treatment, my scalp felt like it was on fire, so I had to shift forward in my chair from the discomfort. Would not recommend this place to anybody; I came back to the salon to complain and asked for a refund due to the extensive damage incurred to my hair, and they didn’t want anything to do with it, and then turned around to call ME “dishonest”. On the day of the terrible service, I went into the salon, and they offered full head of foils, but it was more than I expected to pay, so I asked for half a head of foils instead. No treatment prior was offered, and I wasn’t made aware of any risks- I was led to believe that instead of getting a full head of foils, I would only get HALF a head of foils using the SAME treatment. Regardless, it was the combination of chemical and heat damage (over processing of my hair) that ultimately led to the breakage of my healthy hair (regrowth), so that all that’s left at the top-back of my head (where the bleach was applied) are short 4cm strands of hair. I was attending a wedding the day after. It was such an embarrassing day where wedding guests walked up to me to ask about my terrible hair, and there is no way in fixing it. Do not come here, if they ruin your hair, they’ll take no responsibility and just ask you to leave, as they have done with me.I went to a real hair dresser afterwards, who helped assess the damage, and they were shocked to see how badly Salon City had damaged my hair. Clearly, the hair stylist (Mimi) is inexperienced and doesn’t understand basic chemistry for proper and correct use of corrosives (i.e. developer and bleach). She was flabbergasted as to how my hair was in such a state of ruin; she couldn’t put 2 and 2 together to understand that her choice of using 40 vol developer in combination with scorching hot heat from a heating device could destroy someone’s hair. Her lack of experience and knowledge, as well as her resistance to learning from her mistakes means that there will be many more victims to come after this incident. She is negligent, ignorant, and downright rude and unprofessional, and is probably the worst person I’ve ever met in my life; no empathy, no sense of responsibility or accountability for her actions. She even tried to throw her own colleague under the bus to shift the blame and responsibility to someone else!Final photo clearly shows where the hair had broken off after Mimi’s horrendous bleaching. This whole experience has been a nightmare. To this day, there has been no acknowledgement of her mistakes, and certainly no apology.

Ask for a pricing before service as their online price list is out of date. I had a colour correction service this morning, spent two hours in the chair and basically had a full head foils, toner, 5 mins treatment and a blow dry. MJ was very friendly and knew exactly what I wanted. During the service she mentioned that she needed to use quality products to protect my hair and it will cost more than an average full head foils. I said no problem, thinking an extra $100.My hair colour turned out great, see the pictures below. Is it $700 worth of great? I certainly don’t think so. Mind you,I got a gift box of hair products because I had a “big service.” In summary, great customer service and I am happy with the colour but I think it’s way overpriced. I should have questioned it but I was dumbstruck and just paid and left.

Wash and blow dry. My hair was not washed well, not sure if conditioner was even used. Then while my hair was being blow dried straight I could smell burning hair. I asked if the smell was my hair burning and she said it was the brush. When I left I realized my hair was burnt. I have had to pay $300 at a reputable hair salon for keratin treatment so I may try and save my hair otherwise I would have to cut it quite short! I am devastated and disgusted because the owner heard me ask about the smell of burnt hair and he did nothing. I am appalled beyond belief. I WILL NEVER GO BACK!!!
