Confest

Finally coming home again after a 3-year covid-imposed hiatus was so appreciated. It's a rejuvenating festival in a breath-takingly beautiful location. There's something for everyone here and the atmosphere is always one of playfulness, artistic expression, freedom, generosity and endless kindness. I have attended 6 Confests so far and each has been a unique experience, but all have been most enjoyable.My only complaint is that the vast majority of people don't wash their hands after using the toilet. Sanitiser and running water is sometimes placed near the toilets, but this year it was a hospital-grade surface disinfectant which is terrible for skin. Some toilets didn't even have that or a tap, so I avoided hugs and eating anything prepared by others as much as possible throughout this year's festival and carried sanitiser everywhere. This absolutely must improve, it can't be compliant with health regulations, especially in light of Covid.

Mind opening, beautiful, unique, vibrant, volunteer run and unforgettable

The best festival I ever been to thanks to all the people who attend and come together to make it happen full of positive energy and good vibes. So much to do with the workshops. The silent disco is so much fun with the choice/battle of three DJs. Plenty of stalls selling food/clothing etc. Full of welcoming people who sit and collaborate with their passion for music. I have left feeling uplifted and refreshed meeting some truly amazing people. A true escape from reality with no mobile reception where people come together and connect. There is one thing I didn't like about confest and its that it has to come to an end.

An amazing event. It restores my faith in humanity each year. A place with no judgement of people wanting to be themselves. Highly recommended. It's as safe for children as any other event with thousands of people, they should be supervised by someone responsible. Camp right in the thick of the action near the massage tables and body painting or 500 m away in the scrub (or anywhere in-between) it's up to you. Camp with your vehicle in 'Gypsy village' or use a free sack truck and shuttle bus to cart your stuff into the car-free zone. There are villages that are free from smoke and alcohol and villages for other minority groups. There are about a thousand (slight exaggeration) workshops everyday for all sort of skills and activities. Consent is sexy, no amplified music...welcome home!

I went to this years Easter Confest 2018, it was on a new site whichhad not been used since about Summer 2012-13. I did not like thissite as there were lots of prickles & noxious weeds which got stuckin everything like shoes socks thongs & bare feet even car tyres.I think DTE thould go back to the other more famillier site in thesame area or go to Gulpa Creek near Deniliquin again.From Gary Peter Harding
