Hitch & Ditch

Hitch & Ditch is such a wonderful concept and allows for a stress free and magical day! However, our overall experience has not been what I expected and has left us a little disheartened.The day itself was beautiful, there is no denying that at all, walking into the venue it really took your breath away. The hour and half time slot was perfect, you did not feel rushed at all and were able to celebrate and soak it all in. Most importantly, we walked out as Husband & Wife. You honestly need to trust in the magic of what they are creating and allow yourself to be blown away.What has lacked throughout is the communication. We booked in February and were married in May, during this time there was no response to questions in emails, we were constantly following up for things like confirmation of a time slot, which we did not receive until almost 4 weeks after booking - this made it hard to book other elements of our day.I also found it strange that we did not receive any phone calls from Abbey (Celebrant) to speak with us, get to know us, talk us through things ect. You do fill out a questionnaire but filling in the blanks without speaking us meant that small details she spoke about in our ceremony were actually incorrect.The turn around time on our gallery was truly amazing, we had our full photo gallery back within almost a week when we were not expecting it for at least 4 weeks. The photos were great however, our gallery was missing some very important moments.... First kiss, walking back down the aisle, celebrating with our witnesses and daughter ect. There was no communication about this until I asked about these photos, we were told they would be to us ASAP, we were provided with film captures that were of terrible quality and then when questioned again, finally we were told there was a camera malfunction/ technical issue on the day and these moments were not captured. We were promised compensation for this, which was not followed through with at all.I appreciate that due to circumstances out of their control, Chris was unable to actually photograph the day himself (he did still complete the final editing) and they provided a suitable solution of another photographer of similar style, rather then having to reschedule the day.Most recently, I have sent an email expressing how dissatisfied we have been with their overall communication and how we were promised compensation that we did not receive. It was almost 2 weeks before we received a response.I do not regret our choice to Hitch & Ditch, as I mentioned it was a truly beautiful day which concluded with us as Husband & Wife. I do hope that our overall experience is a one off and I do truly believe the wonderful reviews that other couples have left. However I do feel it is important that we share our personal experience.I have followed H&D since the start, I have seen the magic, the love and the effort that goes into it and I honestly believe in the magic that is yet to come from it.

A wedding all about us...oh yeah! Incredible intimate and oh so personalised. Unbelievable value for money. Lasting memories that just ooze love love love. Most perfect idea.
