Woolworths Bayswater

Witnessed a very disturbing and obviously racist interaction with a customer of Asian background. The customer was actually correct, a discount was not processing correctly in the self checkout. The employee started to speak so loudly at the customer basically telling them that they were wrong it was borderline yelling. They were over emphasising words on purpose, assuming the customer couldn’t understand English. The supervisor then came over and admitted the error was on their end. The customer somehow managed to stay very polite and composed the whole time, the staff members behaviour was absolutely disgusting.

Staff are always helpful especially the mature male staff wearing glasses who always offers to help customers walking past him or anyone staring at the shelves who may need to help with their groceries.I usually find the grocery items I need which is helpful. Plenty of parking spaces as well and petrol station adjacent to it hence making shopping convenient.

Nice mature woman with glasses working behind the service desk at 2.21pm on Sunday the 25th of June 2023 refused to give me an exchange because I bought the item from Bayswater North Woolworth store and stated “ the item would make their stock take count out if I exchanged it there and I would have to bring it back to Bayswater North store. This was after she made me get the items I wanted to exchange. So I was forced to purchase the items I wanted to exchange and carry them 4km home as I can only afford to walk to the store. Bayswater north is 8km walk. I have since contacted head office and have been given a special number to call on Monday but don’t know the outcome yet as it’s too early being 1.55am Monday.

I only come here when I am desperate for something as it's not far. I travel the distance to Knox if I have time to their new Woolies. This one needs a major overhaul and the staff I've never had interaction with they all look angry all the time. There was a friendly security guard at the door but he seems to be gone. Please renovate this store and the carpark is ghetto

If I can I would give negative stars. I went tonight and want to product but found out it's wrongly priced while check out. I called for help and the male staff who came responded in a way that is very disrespectful, making me feel like I deliberately did it to get it for low price, by saying a lot of people did that and of course I am not going to let you get away from it". I told him that I am not buying the product but do not make me feel I am the one who did it wrong. Not my fault at all. I feel very discriminated with his behaviour and I regretted to be so polite to him

I was Racially profiled at this Woolworths.. I was shopping with one of my close friends, us being both African & at the time this was the nearest grocery shop to my house..one time we just went there pretty sure to grab bread, eggs and cheese the I forgot to grab a day before. I was at self check out and I purchased everything but didn’t get a receipt. The check out lady was watching the whole time, saw us purchasing and everything.. she yelled out AH, you didn’t buy that! . so obviously the whole store looked at us. It was so awkward and embarrassing, we kept telling her we bought it check the machine history. She actually didn’t want check kept yelling and so I kept yelling back. She ended up calling the manager of the store & he was really confused, checked the machine and apologised to us. The lady was sent to the back & we were given free chocolate as if it could make up for the amount of embarrassment we just went through, people were actually laughing & talking under their breaths.So this Woolworths is actually trash, chocolate isn’t enough to make up for the disrespect, embarrassment & racialism that day.. that lady I hope she lost her job for putting people on show for nothing.

I love the staff here.. very helpful and polite too..

This is my local and majority of the time I am utilising the click & collect.Staff have been wonderful with offering assistance.It can get busy during the afternoon/evening but there is plenty of parking.Store is well maintained, signage is available and helpful if needed.

Good size, stand alone shop with good range and well internally signed. Still has friendly staffed checkouts. Reasonable parking. Car street entrance needs to improve the footpath crossover it has very steep and accute approach angles. Can only exit one way, so need to U turn.

Small ,not well stocked,feels dirty .. definitely needs an upgrade as feels like stuck in the 1970s..
