Mount Dandenong Bakery

Been a regular local customer for the past few years. This bakery hasnt ever been something to write home about BUT hasn’t ever disappointed due to having the classic bakery goods you can expect. It’s not fancy, it’s not ambitious, just a simple bakery which makes it a safe and reliable choice when it comes to choosing your lunch. Until now…This has gone out of control! I haven’t been in a few months and I was in disbelief when I heard $6.85 for the price of a simple steak and bacon pie…. Like be real! It’s a simple pie! Much better off going to Proserpina and paying a dollar more for a large, gourmet, chunky steak pastry pie that comes with FREE homemade chutney. I understand price increases have been inevitable to combat inflation for businesses but this is disgustingly expensive. Don’t take advantage of the system, you’re only taking advantage of your customers. Talk about supporting the locals! Ripping the locals off! If you want to charge this much then at least give us our moneys worth! Not a small thin pie with mediocre filling. Be realistic Mount Dandenong Bakery.

Just had lunch there. Pretty average pie.It was undercooked. Soft and luke warm.$30+ for 2 pies, 2 drinks and a loaf of plain bread was a bit steep too but I guess everything is expensive these days.Gets a bonus star for being the only non hoity toity bakery left on the hill, but overall it’s not great and not cheap.

Really cute, classic bakery. An impressive selection of baked goods and delicious sandwiches. The staff are lovely and very attentive! The drawbacks are that it's a little out-dated and has a strange layout. (Careful not to fall backwards at the outside seating!)

Stopped here this afternoon and the staff are all extremely friendly and there was a great range of options. I got a cauliflower pie, lemon slice and a coffee which were all lovely. The only downside is things are quite expensive, but given the area and rising costs of everything it's understandable.Definitely worth stopping by if you're in the area.

The food is all nice and fresh, but get there early, before the sales assistants become tired and snappy.

Fabulous friendly staff.Always consistent, great service with a perfect coffee made to order.Terrific all-round..not to mention a stunning array of cakes, pastries and rolls..and home made fresh bread ..The Mountain loaf is a favourite of mine.

We had breakfast here and it was lovely. Service, food and coffee were all excellent. Hope to be back again soon.
