Desert Palms Alice Springs

Nice accommodation located in Alice Springs. Cabin was clean and tidy, and had a good air conditioner in it to keep it nice and cool. Reception staff were friendly, and hotel is located close to a few eateries. About a 15min walk to the town centre, and about a 15min drive to the airport.

very nice small bungalows, clean with basic decor. A great circular pool for the kids to play in. There was also a little kitchenette and at the reception they had a mini shop so you could buy some snacks. the reception staff were very friendly. not a great location for town centre but a bus shuttle is outside the hotel. there is food nearby though, at the back of the complex you could walk to the Alice Springs golf club and get a great value meal . also next door was the Hilton where there is an Asian and Indian restaurant. highly recommended

Arrived very early, luckily enough had a room ready to go, so very pleased. Relaxed over a coffee, then walked into Alice Springs and had lunch. So far very pleased with our choice

Checked into room and stayed 30 min. Wanted to lay down for a bit and the second I pulled back the sheets a spider crawled across the bed. I immediately smashed it. Also noticed there was some kind of tree or bush debris in the bed. I knew I couldn’t comfortably stay there so went to check out. I told the girl at the front desk the situation and she said, “This is the outback what do you expect?”And then she said that she would have to charge me for that day since I didn’t want to try another room even though I was there half an hour and I found an insect crawling on the bed. I had already paid for the room because I booked through Travelocity and I figured I’d just handle it when I get home. The hotel refused to refund me at all and said that I had to wait 20 days while they investigated it and wanted to know if I have pictures as if I was lying about the situation. I finally got a refund for the two nights after placing a dispute with my credit card. I’m still upset that they wouldn’t give me the $140 back especially since I found the spider And I did not appreciate a girl telling me that this is the outback and that’s just what’s gonna happen because when I checked into the new hotel, I had no bugs at all in my room. Also, the Wi-Fi is terrible. I had a hard time trying to book another hotel since I hardly had a connection. Checked into the hotel next-door had a wonderful Wi-Fi connection and a nice clean room with no insects plus it had restaurants on site. So if you want to risk having bugs crawling in your ears or on your face at night, go ahead and stay here

The thing I really liked about the Desert Palms, was that you had your own free-standing little villa. You weren't connected to another room, complete privacy.... there was everything you needed to cook a meal. Water pressure was great, great towels and fabulous linen. Rooms were lovely and clean. Definitely stay there again.Thankyou!!!

This is a good place to stay. I find the kitchenette and BBQ facility very handy.However, it’s no daily housekeeping due to staff shortage. Hence, insects around in the room.The pool is great. Great for couples and family travellers.

I absolutely loved this place! It was tidy and well-proportioned with everything we needed to feel right at home (fridge, tea kettle etc.). You have to pay to use the communal washer and dryer, but we never used the dryer because your clothes dry in minutes due to the lack of humidity.The pool is really cool; is set up like a lazy river with an island in the middle and palm trees to give some shade. It's the perfect escape from the heat. I also appreciated that we were just a short walk to three other hotels (with restaurants) and a casino. Just around the corner was the botanical garden and a little beyond that was the library and shopping center. Everything was an easy walk.The best part of our stay here was the night clerk (Nate?) and his little dog, Doug the Pug. He was always so helpful and gave great advice about where to go and what to do. When my stepmom lost her cell phone, he went above and beyond to help her get it back and the people at the store where she lost it delivered it right to our door. Alice Springs has a bit of a rough reputation, but our experience there was that everyone we met was friendly and kind hearted.

I can't fault this place. We didn't want to stay in alice springs with everything going on but we wanted to stay an extra night because of how amazing this place is! With a secure location fully fenced and a stunning pool you can't go wrong. The vibe in the facility is fresh and fun the rooms are equipped with basically everything and the guy at reception was super welcoming and helpful. We will definitely be back

Great little free-standing villa with complete privacy with a front porch. There is a small kitchen area with everything you need to cook meals. Bathroom was clean, shower water pressure was great, swimming pool, bbq area, towels, linen all included. Rooms were clean and tidy.Great place to stay if you’re in Alice Springs for short stay or long term. The only downside is beds were a bit small especially if you’re a big bloke. You are about 15mins walk from the main shopping precinct.Weekends can get busier with people checking-in/out but weekdays are pretty quiet.
