Boolaroo Bakery

Has one of the best Vietnamese pork rolls in the area and is definitely a must when stopping in here. Their sausage rolls are so good. I used to drive 30mins just to get them.

The $4.50 sausage roll I bought was colder than room temp. Why on earth would I want to buy a cold sausage roll! On the plus side, it tasted decent when heated up a couple hours later in the microwave. Maybe some of their other stuff is better, although from this first impression it seems like a sub-par bakery. Bakery located in satellite suburb of Newcaslte called Speers Point.Situated in the main street of Speers Point it has street parking and one pedestrian entrance.Simple but well made bakery products including bread loaves, bread rolls, pies, pasties and cakes.All produce made fresh daily on premises

Very nice little bakery in the small and quiet town ob Boolaroo. Very friendly and welcoming staffs. The Vietnamese pork roll in this bakery is my favourite. There are ranges of pastries available too. The only thing I dislike about them is the irregular trading times.

Been to other places in Newwy to get banh mi, but none have satisfied me more, than the banh mi from Boolaroo Bakery.When it comes to pork rolls, there's a fine line between flavour, texture and composition. You can have all the flavour ever, but lack in the composition of the sandwhich (the ingredients fall out), or have all the texture, but it sacrifices flavour or have the ability for everything to be in the sandwich, but have absolutely zero substance. This is Boolaroo Bakery's strong suit with its banh mi. The balance of flavours and textures really play on each other well. The stand out is the slices of radish inside that give the sandwhich a fresh, juicy bite. The banh mi is also topped with some sauce which adds much needed moisture to the sandwhich.The composition of the sandwhich is a highlight aswell. Other banh mi's will either have too much filling that it falls out everywhere, or not nearly enough to satisfy your hunger needs. The contents of this banh mi sit inside very uniformly and rarely spills (banh mi's are messy foods anyways).In conclusion, nothing in this world is perfect, but this sandwhich comes very close to it. If youre ever in the area the pork roll is A MUST.
