What a beautiful place to stay. Such awesome and helpful staff and neat clean cottages. Plenty of hangers, full length mirror and what you need in the kitchen. Will definitely stay here again.

A wonderful retreat with a loved one or even by yourself. It's very peaceful and quiet here. The cabins are very comfortable and have everything you need e.g. fireplace, electric heater, spa, smart tv, fridge, stove and all the kitchen necessities, etc. Hiking is always closeby and there's lots of locations to choose from. The food and people are wonderful. We suggest grabbing breakfast at the local cafe or grocery store and heading over to The Piccaninny for a warm up hike. We had a wonderful time and we most definitely will be back to enjoy it again :)

Unfortunately after 14 consecutive years of staying at the Southern Grampian Cottages our time has come to an end. A new owner has lowered the standards and put up the prices by 50 dollars a night. I am one of four families who have experienced the most unprofessional treatment by the new owner who rang each of us on Sunday morning to complain about our noise levels on Saturday night and the way we had trashed the place she threatened to fine us 500 a cabin. All this she said without being on site and seeing anything. We apologised for the noise levels but vehemently reject any trashing of the cabins or outside area’s. As guests We were shocked at the treatment we received. If we were as bad as she accused us of being we would not have been going back year after year. Our kids have grown up coming here every year and we always had a lovely welcome from George the old owner who took such good care of the grounds and cabins. You can see the gardens are not as well maintained, the towels are of a cheaper quality, the cabins are not nearly as clean and the new owner is not there to maintain the standards that George had held so high for years. I have never before received such unprofessional treatment and would not recommend this establishment to anyone while this person is the owner. I am supported in my thoughts by the other guests in our group. We are all in shock after this experience. Fabricated lies without any evidence.

After 14 wonderful years dealing with George & having not one issue during all these years, it’s sad to find the new owner is irrational & confrontational. While we acknowledge our group was noisy for which we apologised, an abusive & threatening phone call to each member was completely unnecessary and over the top. No idea about customer service or loyalty and the overall experience had deteriorated (cheap linen, hospital grade towels, sub standard cabins) plus an increase in price that doesn’t equal quality. Do yourself a favour & skip this accommodation, with so much on offer in the region, you can find something for better value & less abuse.

Stayed here July last year but only just remembered to leave a review as I'm recommending a friend to stay!Lovely hosts who even came to get the fire going in our cottage on arrival - and offered to do the same every day so that it was going again when we got back from a days hiking!My only recommendation would be to get TV's that support services like nextflix, so you can bunker down if the weather is truly terrible

A great place to stay. Located at the foot of the beautiful Southern Grampians, in a beautifully cared for bush garden setting, the cabin we had was large, bright and spotlessly clean. The kitchen was fully equipped with modern appliances and a good range of kitchen tools. Beds were comfortable – the staff friendly and welcoming. Delightful to wake in the morning to find kangaroos staring through the window! Highly recommended.

A nice place to stay just outside of Dunkeld. Kitchen was well stocked with utensils and stove was good. Bathroom was large and fairly modern. Lounge area was comfortable and the smart TV allowed us to watch our usual subscription entertainment easily by simply logging in.Aircon is only provided in the kitchen/living area, not the bedroom (which only has a fan). Cleaning could be improved a little.Shared washing facilities are provided with good-quality machines, however it would be helpful to have an allocated washing line or more communal drying space, as we ended up drying out clothes on chairs in the room.

Our 3 night stay in the 2 bedroom spa Chimney Pots cabin was fantastic. From the moment we arrived we were blown away by the thoughtful details all around the cabin like the vases of fresh flowers, homemade candles, complimentary chocolates and the fireplace being set up for us and ready to light.The kitchen was extremely well stocked with everything we needed and more. I especially loved the quality products, bed linen, bathrobes and the private patio off the bedroom. Our 2 teenagers loved the spa bath, huge basin and plenty of mirrors throughout the cabin!Thank you so much to Anna for this well needed break and to the caretaker Tracey those made to order candles are divine!We will be telling our friends and be back to stay in the future.
