Better Bathrooms

Wow - what a bad experience we had dealing with this company. I read with interest that it has all been said before in past reviews! The owner Dieter is all happy and friendly until something goes wrong then he turns. We ordered a product that was delivered faulty. Instead of trying to help he just told me I was the problem, that my plumbing was faulty and that I was rude.... and that I had broken it. I was the customer and here he was yelling at me! It goes on and on and on - I will never recommend this business to anyone. In fact I am struggling to understand how they can stay in business - so it is a 1 out of 5 for me. If the review system let me I would rate it as a 0.

I cannot stress enough that you should not deal with this company, in particular Dieter Hobelt. I ordered a vanity from Better Budget Bathrooms (BBB), originally from Mia. She was helpful. The vanity that I ordered was an ADP vanity, with a stone top and basins being supplied by BBB. The vanity was supposed to be 1800 x 500, with 2 basins and 2 tower mixers. I bought the tower mixers from another supplier, however, BBB were fully aware of the exact specifications of both. However, when it came time to cut the holes in the stone top, that was when I was advised that the top was only 460 deep and wouldn't fit the basins that I had ordered and the tower mixers. It became apparent that they had ordered a custom build vanity from ADP, I'm assuming as they had a 1800 x 460 stone top lying around that they wanted to get rid of. This is when Dieter became involved. He was rude, unhelpful, tried to blame us (even though 99% of my communication had been over email and very detailed). He agreed to supply a new vanity that was 1800 x 500 for slightly higher cost $2,500 instead of $2,280, as we were now getting the ADP stone top as well as the vanity itself). That was good, however, he wanted another $500 deposit. When I advised that they already had a $500 deposit, they said they now needed $1,000, when I said that wasn't happening, he wanted full payment upfront before supplying anything further. I was told in writing that I was just looking for trouble rather than a solution.

Worse experience I have ever had. Went to look at the showroom to view a vanity, shower screen, taps and shower tray. Found a vanity I liked that I saw on line, asked how munch and was told $445. I than said I saw one on line for $385 and he than said I can change the price whenever I want and started abusing me and my daughter. I will never go back there and I spent my money elsewhere, where I got excellent advise and customer service. Be warned if you go here and have a question you want answered you will be abused.

We dealt with this company and I would strongly advise to avoid. They were nice in the beginning and put on an act to make a sale and take our money but Dieter became abusive when 3 of the products we bought became faulty. He even stated we had a part in them becoming faulty and stated we had simply “Changed Our Minds” with the purchase. RIDICULOUS! He buys in cheap shower screens that do not meet Australian Standards. We never even received the Government ِCertified Certificate something we learnt later on we should have received when purchasing another shower screen through a reputable company. With another issue he persisted on wanting to come out and fix the problem himself stating that our licenced plumber installed it incorrectly. He avoided at all cost in wanting to replace the items. After photos and video of the faulty products and persistent emails and phone calls he eventually reluctantly gave me the companies of the towel rails and mixer tap to get a replacement. One of the companies I contacted didn’t even sell the item but on telling him the sequence of events and our dealings with Dieter he provided a new one at no cost to us. We went there due to a tight budget but it is just not worth it. Spend that little bit more or search around. The most unprofessional company we have ever dealt with. We actually can’t believe they are still in business. A nightmare experience! Avoid at all costs!

Thank you for making the process of purchasing a Timberline vanity and installing our frameless shower screen so seamless. I cannot speak highly enough of Better Bathrooms both from a service point of view and installation. All my questions were answered and delivery of all items and installation as promised. Aggressive, not helpful, talks over the top of you and is extremely defensive.I went to browse in store as I wanted to see a particular product I had seen online. The lady told me they had it in a container and it would be available to view on display the following Wednesday. She was lovely and helpful so I was happy to wait and view the product when it was displayed. On the day, I called before going to the showroom to ensure it was unpacked. Dieter answered my call and told me it was not. I asked him when I could see it and he asked me what my problem was, and said that the photos online are just as good. I tried to explain that I wanted to see it before making a purchase of $1000+. He said he didn't really want to unpack it and I should stop asking him to. I said that I was told it would be available, and that was why I was asking. I ended the call to an ear blasting. Not worth my time to listen to.I hadn't read the other reviews until this point, but I wish I had before wasting my time trying to deal with a local business that operates like this.Overall, a hideous customer service experience. Please avoid this place.

Couldn’t have asked for a better experience with my frameless shower screen to finish off my renovation. Lance came and fitted the shower screen, and i am extremely pleased with his craftsmanship and the finished product. Will be recommending him to all my friends.

On the strength of the customer service and advice we received on our first encounter with Mia at Better Bathrooms we returned to once again be satisfied customers. Great insight into our plumbing hardware issue and product knowledge that has given us a foolproof solution. We are very grateful.

I have done several bathrooms renovations using Better bathroom as my supplier. I have always found them very competitive on pricing and very helpful in getting a better design. Some of my first renovations are well over 10 old but they back up there product warranties and to get replacement parts for me when needed. Great small business to work with.David
