Barker & Blu Dog Grooming

Eve is a wonderful doggy stylist. She will do a conservative scissor cut and thin, leaving the dog incredibly silky soft and smelling wonderful, and still looking like themselves. Highly recommended.The other groomer is completely different. Does simple buzz cuts, removing all character and beauty, and leaving the short fur feeling coarse. Terrible shame to remove such a beautiful coat from an older dog. Don't know why anyone would do that.Also bad for business as we won't be back for months now, waiting and hoping for this to eventually grow out. It's a management issue too - are there no grooming notes for regular customers?

I had written a previous 5-star review when this salon was under different management. Unfortunately, I am no longer satisfied since the management change and wanted to make to make this clear, since Google reviews cannot be removed. Nikki (the only remaining groomer from previous management) is a wonderfully talented, caring groomer who has always showered my furkids with love and attention and gave them great haircuts. I have nothing but 100% praise for her, her work, and her approach, and if this review were based on her grooming alone, it too would be 5-star. However, the salon has now expanded and lost the small personalised boutique feel that drew me to it in the first place. I did make an effort to contact the owner regarding my concerns, but my emails and phone calls were not returned. This may be due in part to the management shift, which I understand is time-consuming and multi-faceted, so I am happy to extend the benefit of the doubt.

Watch out! This business is under new management in 2022 and the service is different. After years of really beautiful scissor trims and undercoat thins, our silky medium coat dog came home with a short, rough buzz cut instead. This was after requesting just a tidy up" AND confirming that they do have customer notes and do read them first.It doesn't look awful if you like that kind of thing

I absolutely LOVE this grooming salon. And the doggy daycare too! They treat my dog with soooo much love and care. His grooming has always come out beautifully and he smells divine. They listen to what I want in terms of the cut/style. When I send him to daycare I get to watch him having fun ALL DAY on their Instagram stories. Couldn’t be happier with the service! Highly highly recommend.

Eve and her team are simply amazing! The love and care they show towards our older dog Teddy is really heart warming. The salon is clean and on trend, the team are professional and friendly and the grooming is always of a high standard.

Out of all the dog groomers we have taken our dogs to over the past 15 years, Eve at Barker & Blu easily comes out on top. Eve is so professional and I’ve never seen my pup so fluffy! My dog is quite old and gets anxious but he is so excited to be dropped off and is hesitant to leave when I pick him up, he adores her! Unfortunately our dog has recently been diagnosed with cancer. If it wasn’t for Eve, we wouldn’t have picked it up, she noticed a lump and told us she hadn’t noticed it a few weeks ago, it just shows that she gets to know and cares for each and every dog like her own. We had even taken him to the vet for a check up the week before and the vet didn’t even notice the lump so we are so thankful for her taking notice of our puppy so we could get him on medication ASAP. In comparison to some dog grooming places we have taken our dog to previously, Barker & Blu is always so clean and beautifully presented, we always feel so comfortable dropping our dog off as it is such a homely, warm environment. Eve also posts the cutest photos on her Instagram of our pup after he’s been groomed and is determined to get a cute photo to show us even if it takes half an hour ahahha. This owner since taken up the business don't care about client and keep on changing prices without notifying client. Its a basic rule to let people know as a curtsey if price changing from last 6 weeks but after writing to her she tells me very rudely to find some where else. Sure will do and so as others with such poor attitude.

I've had Shih Tzu dogs for the past thirty years and have never experienced a grooming salon like Barker and Blu. It is managed by an experienced, professional, and attentive owner, Eve, and staffed by truly exceptional groomers who clearly love dogs. My four Shih Tzu literally run through the door to jump into Nicky's arms when they see her, and are calm and content (as well as beautiful) when I collect them (even my two nervous ones). I have explained to the staff only once what I'm after--eyelashes left long, tails to remain full, one dog to keep longer ears than the others, etc. All four are always groomed to perfection, and I have never had to repeat myself. The quality of cuts is consistent for each dog, though they are groomed by multiple groomers, and the Shih Tzu cut is distinctive and challenging to achieve. One of my dogs is a model/brand ambassador and has to look perfect at all times, and he's proud to call Barker and Blu his exclusive hairdresser! I have great peace of mind in knowing my dogs are not only being exceptionally groomed, but exceptionally cared for as well. I hope Barker and Blu never go out of business, as they have spoiled us all for life, and I can't imagine going anywhere else. I live several suburbs away, but a salon of this calibre is well worth the commute. Keep up the great work, Eve, Nicky, and team!

I would highly recommend Barker & Blu to anyone seeking a wonderful dog grooming/daycare service. Eve and her team are amazing.Leaving my new puppy was quite daunting at first, then after the Barker & Blu experience, he absolutely loved it. My puppy has so much fun socialising with the other dogs. They also give him a complimentary wash and tidy, he looks and smells terrific. The regular walking they do with the dogs is a great bonus, especially being a puppy.Thank you guys!
