Terowie Roadhouse and Motel (24 Hour Fuel)

A no frills truck stop which one would expect in the middle of nowhere. Friendly staff and good basic food. The hot chips were cooked to perfection. Clean interior and seating. Would definitely recommend unless you want fine dining with all the frills.

Decent road house excellent steak sandwiches at a good price would stop there again when passing through. Thought i'd lost my phone there (I didn't) the bloke was kind enough to have a look for me which I appreciated.

This weekend was the second time visiting the store.The first time the bloke popped his head out through a hatch in the wall and acted like an incredibly rude coocoo bird. Covid = stress, maybe it was a bad day for him so we went on.This weekend we entered the store to be greeted by the same man. And by greeted, I mean holding the keys to the toilet above his head and abruptly telling us the toilets are for paying staff only whilst directing us to the door with his eyes and his attitude. The reason he provided I have no issue with and understood, but the rudeness of him is disgusting.To this bloke: Cheer up, and treat people the way you would like to be treated. A bad attitude gets you nowhere.

This is an absolutely extraordinary place to stay. If you decide to do so, be prepared for some improvising - when I stayed, everything, roadhouse and restaurant, closed down at 5 pm - but there are rewards. The motel is right out of a film noir, with amazing wall paintings; I was the only guest, and it was more than a bit eerie. Terowie itself is an incredibly atmospheric semi-ghost town and a fascinating place by any standard. The level of comfort is o.k. for such a remote place, and though the restaurant was closed, they cooked me a massive steak after hours and brought it to my room. The guy on duty was very friendly. In sum: not for everyone, but I certainly don't regret staying here.

Was looking for lunch after driving for sometime from Broken Hill. Never stopped at this roadhouse before but glad I did this time. Had a great lunch and coffee and the service was excellent. Will stop again in the future.
